'Exceptional tomb of Celtic prince' found

An "exceptional" tomb from the 5th Century BC likely to be that of a Celtic prince has been unearthed on the outskirts of Lavau in France's Champagne region.

The grave containing Greek and possibly Etruscan artefacts was discovered in a business zone, the National Archaeological Research Institute (Inrap) said.

Researchers believe it could shed light on Iron Age European trade.

On 5 March 2015, French archaeologists revealed to the world the presence of one of the most important discoveries in more than 50 years.

A year on, the Lavau Prince has revealed many of his secrets to archaeologists, but a lot of mysteries remain. They hold the key to a better understanding of the Celtic civilisation that lived at the time, in the 5th century BC.
