Playing Paper Mario Origami King and Xenoblade Chronicles (both excellent). Mario's long (took 8hrs to reach first boss).

I tried Nioh for a while. Its a cool game for sure but it takes so much effort to progress. The game seemed similar to Bloodborne which I also only tried for a while. They're cool games but apparently not my type of game. The only rogue style game I ever got into was the free to play PS4 game Let It Die. I played the hell out of that for many hours and weeks and loved it but once you hit that pay wall its damn near impossible.

Anyhow I'm now on Tomb Raider 20th anniversary and its a grade A game. Next will be Last of Us 2 then DOOM Eternal should take me into Halloween then after that PS5 hits the shelves and we'll see what happens.

I love the souls games and their clones. It took me a while to get into Nioh, but once i did i fell in love. The trick is really just learning the enemy patterns and the Ki systems. Then you just exploit and slaughter everything

Elex, post comet survival thing, with factions & mutants, not a kill everything in sight type game but plenty of that,  quite good imo

I got it on a sale. Its not everyone's cup of tea - and can be frustrating early on when large chickens kill you in one peck.

Early game its a run and avoid sort of gameplay.

Playing a few games concurrently.

Wartile is a real time strategy game, set in 8-11th century Viking Norway.  Hordes of Draugr are spilling onto the surface from some dark hell mouth chasm and they need butchering.  It's basic but fun, the design of the characters and settings is visually very strong.

VANE was just installed, I played through the intro and am holding onto this one for a bit.  I'm really looking forward to this explorer/story game!  Similar in approach to other visually stunning non-combat based games, like Journey, Aer, and Abzu, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.  Only in this one, you fly about as a Raven (I anticipate some shapeshifting to humanoid) and the world responds to your presence, revealing what may have existed long ago... or may be coming into being... don't know yet.

And I'm on my third playthrough of Tsushima, now on lethal setting.  Best. Game. Ever!

Mopping up the last few tales in my run through to get my plat.. Does difficulty do anything besides make enemies damage sponges? I played on hard and it wasn't, really. Fatalistic game. The co-op DLC should be interesting.

Lethal is more challenging, positioning becomes more important in the open fights, multiples ganging up more frequently... the responses of the bots seems quicker and some of their attack routines seem longer/with more moves to them.  The Duels are more fun on lethal.

Hard didn't seem different from Medium to me, aside from like you said... more hits to end bots.

Of course, with the assassination aspect and how fluid it is, the entire game is almost 'skirtable' and easy-peasy.

I'm definitely looking forward to the DLC and co-op expansions...

I wish they would release that Final Fantasy VII remake for the PC already. I wanna play it, but I'm not gonna buy a PS4 just for that...

Or like, at least bring it to the Switch.

I'm not a gamer but lockdown has me hooked on Mechanicus Adeptus. It's really hard until you become so souped up you can just blow everyone away in a fiery death in the first round and then it becomes kinda easy. Doesn't help that I hacked the save file to move the "final big boss" level back, meaning I can reach ridiculous levels of souped-up-ness.

Torn between going through Last of Us 2 and FF7 Remake.

Might just go back top Doom Eternal.

Used to love Doom as a kid. Is that the new one?

That does look pretty good to be fair. I spilled bourbon on my laptop first weekend of lockdown (work zoom drinks), so I'm not sure it's up to handling such graphics. All the alcohol on the circuits might, I dunno, go on fire? I'm not that technologically-minded.
