A teen of a pal of mine offered to pay me to pre order that new assassins creed Valhalla for him because his dad said "no"

Just saw the trailer and I told the kid to take a few days to think about it and ask dad again, nicely, I'm not going to tangle myself with this kind of family drama...

The game looks good I must admit...

Still playing Doom Eternal. Decided to bump up the difficulty as I've made several run through's to get the feel of the game. Apparently anything outside of easy is just "Kill Me Now". I love it.

I decided a long time ago to just play most games on hard mode from the start. I used to always play normal modes then one day I decided there's no reason I can't play hard. I won't play the extra or ultra hard modes if they have them cause that's no fun to me. One hit kills or one death and it starts over. I think imaginarynumber said he likes that sadistic crap.

I like to play on easy to just the hang of things. Find all the items, secrets, etc. Then I bump of the challenge. Sometimes I don't, especially when I'm just wanting to play for leisure.

For some game the difficulty makes the win that much more rewarding, like the souls games. The first time through Dark Souls is a punishing romp of misery, but now it's fun to do a level 1 play through with just a club in your underwear. The games are tough, but fair. Nioh is very punishing, until you realize that you can't play it like a souls game and have to use the mechanics they designed specifically for that game.

Most games just ramp up damage and call it harder. Some of the Call of Duty games are notorious for this. World at War on veteran was all about getting lucky and no being overwhelmed by grenades while trying to make it to the next check point. The new Modern Warfare was a great balance of difficulty on veteran. Enemies a little harder to kill, bu they're not spamming you with grenades or killing you in one or two shots.

Screw all those one-and-done modes, though. I don't enjoy that at all.

I swear the souls games are somehow therapeutic.

Here is how to play the game. It's a gambling game, each person gets 8 pieces and 8 pieces are laid out facing up, you try and match pieces on the cover with pieces in your hand. Each piece is piece is worth so many points. The game ends when one player gets 4 points or more, pretty easy isn't it.

Peace

I love them. Once you get a build you like and a couple of good weapons, just clearing areas is relaxing, Or finally taking out a tough boss for the firs time. Smough and Orenstein come to mind...

I have been played Zelda, WiiU, for so long that l am starting to get on top of it, or have slayed all divine beasts, and only have the castle left. But l recently bashed all the rocks l could find for the opals and such, to see how much l could get my points up, (just over 20k) and will probably buy the house for the wedding scene.

And probably use TY cheats to find out where the hidden shrines are?

But hammering Guardians never gets boring.

Look forward to getting Supermario again, but Zelda is one hell of a game, and ideal if you are stuck at home.

Just do what l do, type it into Youtube and see what you have to do, (there have been a few times when l just wanted the answer or a guide). And when you get to the Secret Lab, near the Borg cube thing in the ocean, and get a Guardian sheld, and such slaying nasties becomes a lot easier.

The devine beast or lizard on the volcano, was my last one, and was the easiest since l had the special Guardian killing arrows,

But once you get too many hearts and numbers, (l am at 24k) the software starts putting armor on the Hobgloblins, and they become a lot harder to kill off. I tend to just use the guardian killing arrows, on them since it kills them instantly.

Well, l am back to the tropical island to stock up on arrows, and slay some more nasties, they deserve to die, lol.

Ok, you must be talking about the side quest, where you have to find the hidden place, sneak past them all to get to the next stage? I got stumped by that also, and youTubed it.

I also YT'ed how to get past the hidden forest, (pink tree) part, to find the Zelda Sword, but realize now l need a certain number of hearts to get my hands on that, (worth going for since it doesn't break).

At the moment l went through all of the Hidden Memories bit, with the last one being the coolest, and one being very funny.

If this is true, I can see myself getting back into the gaming scene...

Great game. Do yourself a favor and play Kassandra. Alexios' voice acting was painful.

Been putting off getting one of those fancy screen TV because I hardly watch TV anymore, and even when I watch movies, I tend to watch a lot of old remastered classics.

I don't play games much anymore either, I got tired of all the brutal bloody mayhem themed titles, just doesn't make sense to me spending that kind of money for more of the same old same new.

I like the trend that the game developers are turning to lately though, more on strategy and less on button mashing.
