For some people the sight of just one of these spider-like crustaceans is enough to make their skin crawl, but on rare occasions these eight-legged sea-dwellers can gather together in huge numbers, as was the case when scuba diver PT Hirschfield ventured in to the ocean off Blairgowrie Pier recently. I was envisioning the ancients seeing a huge mass of giant sand crabs and gathering the idea from them.....well that is to say, they threw a large number of huge boulders at them, but the crabs kept coming back, until the ancients quarried, cut, dressed, moved and place huge blocks of stone upon the crabs. Through this process we ended up A) the pyramids and the destruction of giant sand crabs and all proof of their horrific existence.
