Asteroid is named in honor of Leonard Nimoy

The late Star Trek actor was recently honored with a main-belt asteroid that now bears his name.

Known the world over for portraying the half-human, half-Vulcan science officer Spock in the original Star Trek TV series and movies, Nimoy was highly regarded as an actor, a director, a poet and as one of the most recognizable faces in the world of science fiction.

Leonard Nimoy was quite the character on and off the stage, getting his name on an asteroid is well deserved. RIP

Lets hope that asteroid named after Philip Klass doesn't hit earth or the whole planet will get debunked. :w00t:

It's great that they named an asteroid after Leonard Nimoy. It's a very fitting tribute.
