Mark One Posted April 12, 2018 #4277 Share Posted April 12, 2018 This is more of a childhood Grrrr than a recent one. When you were in a electronics shop picking out an Atari game for your birthday. You study the alluring, action packed artwork such as this one. And then you rush home and soon find this on your TV screen. GRRR...mum, can I go outside and play on my bike before lunch? 6

But they are STATELY cheese and ham, redolent with the weight of history and tradition. Following the Peasant Revolt of 1673, most authorities allow that Branston Pickle is permissible ! So shut up and eat your sandwich, Prole ! Edited April 18, 2018 by RoofGardener 1

acute Posted April 20, 2018 #4288 Share Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) Grrr at Enoch Powell! On the 50th anniversary of his 'Rivers of Blood' speech, we have to suffer (all over the UK News) a bunch of curmudgeonly old YamYams, sucking pork scratchings to death in their Working Men's Clubs, while indecipherably mumbling outdated and racist views into their Banks's Mild. LV-426 Posted April 21, 2018 #4291 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Have I done a BBC grrrr recently? Most likely... I'll do another one anyway! Arsène Wenger quitting at the end of the season as the top story on the main news!? I'm a football fan, but seriously... top story? Main news? Get some perspective on the world BBC! Ohh... and last week... BREAKING NEWS running across the bottom of the screen on the good old Beeb: Miami cheerleader 'bullied for being a virgin', complaint claims Seriously? BREAKING NEWS!? I had to stop eating my Weetabix, such was the shock at this newsworthy global revelation! 1
acute Posted April 21, 2018 #4292 Share Posted April 21, 2018 (edited) Kudos! @LV-426 What has peed me off for decades is the idea that we need a sports headline in every news bulletin. I know we are supposed to be a 'sporty nation' here in the UK, but are we the only ones? Of course not! Dear BBC and Sky, By all means revel in an impressive sporty achievement, but feature it as part of a 15-minute Sports section on the News Channel, not on the One, Six, or Ten O'clock News on the mainstream channels. Unless someone runs a 4-minute marathon (or something equally improbable) sport is not news. Please..... Do what CNN do (BTW, it's the only thing you haven't copied off them) and have a dedicated sports roundup on your news channel only.
