Donald Trump Enters 2016 Presidential Race

Great, so when does he announce his campaign suspension?

Probably never. He's stubborn and he's going to stay in it to the end. He (Kasich) was talking about having a brokered convention this morning on CNN and believes he has a chance when it comes to that, which he very well may, who knows at this point.

Anyway, dude is not going to go away like Rubio did.

correct me if I am wrong.. didn't he inherit his empire not create it from the ground up?

From what I know, and I wasn't a Trump follower until he became a candidate, his father gave him one million dollars. He parlayed that into his present fortune. Not exactly self made from the ground up, but no slouch either. Some will argue that he could have done better just investing and resting but that doesn't take into account all the thousands of jobs he's created through his business ventures. My guess is that he probably pays well, and those people now have money to spread around. His impact on the economy is much greater than the original million he started with.

Kasich has announced he will not be VP for either Trump or Cruz.

http://www.nbcnews.c...41911?cid=sm_fb

Then why doesn't he just announce that he's going home? He has no shot at winning the nomination, he won't take second place. What's left? He's apparently changed his goal from running for President to running to be the wrench in the works. At this point he should come back to Ohio and continue doing the job we're paying him for.

Like I said before, he wants to be Kingmaker at the Republican congress where they're going to crown the nominee.

Unless Trump or Cruz meets the 1237 delegate mark, the nomination goes to a convention. The more delegates Kasich leeches away from those two, the higher chance of it going to a convention and the more pull he has at the convention. Depending on how the convention goes, anyone can be the republican candidate regardless of how the popular vote went.

There is also a big difference between "suspending" their campaign and "quitting" it. If you suspend your campaign, you are technically still in the running and can call back your delegates (Rubio in this example).

Edit: spelling

This explains why when I voted I saw a lot of names still on the ballot

Kasich is going for the broken conventions. First round of voting everyone has to vote what was decided but when no one meets the numbers needed it goes in to a second round. In the second round the delegates vote for whoever they want.

no clue who will win that. It will be a crazy election for sure

One Million Dollars? I knew there was someone he reminded me of.

It seems he didn't inherit as much as people are led to believe (nothing new there).

I heartily agree! Way left battling Way right. All it's done is gotten us into this mess and all it will do is continue to make it worse. The silent majority isn't staying so silent anymore. Whatever happened to Lincoln's "a house divided can not stand"?

I think that it's not just the far left and the far right now. It's a combination of varied groups. There are some very weird political alliances. Some of them hate Trump. Some of them love Trump. I don't hate or love him, but his foes are pushing me towards him. Most of them are control freaks, who want all Americans to conform to their views. They better prepare themselves for a real fight from the real majority with *righteous* anger against the status quo that ruins our country!

I've been having a strong feeling that Trump will be murdered by someone soon. Yesterday I had a feeling that his daughter Ivanka will be killed. Last night I had a dream that I can only vaguely remember but they were both in danger in it. Yes I know there have been close calls already with him and his family but it seems close now...

The Secret Service will protect them. They're very aware of the angry, crazy, hateful, violent leftists out there.

Trump is a freak.

He has no presidential quality at all.

My opinion.

How deep. I like chicken soup.

Great, so when does he announce his campaign suspension?

After s'more TV debates where he sits at a nice little table with Trump and Cruz for a couple hours. ;)

Since the debates have been made into such a big deal up to this point, it makes little sense to stop doing them now. Donald Trump never won a single debate, he just stirred up nonsense and controversy and immaturity and gossip. So the loser of every debate is way out in first place. I'd like to see if that pattern can continue when he's only debating one or two other people.

I'd love love love some freestyle debates where they can ask each other questions and rapidly respond to one another in a real debate. Max Kellerman style head-to-head debates across a table. If it turned into a shouting match or war of words, we'd be able to peer further into their souls and extract out their true characters. Does someone have the character and temperament to be President?

Thinking along those lines myself, it's almost like people are doing the Pontius Pilate thing and symbolically washing their hands of the goings on.

It might have evolved into something that transcends the present uproar over Trump. It might have become a needed referendum on our current system.

I hear a lot about these Lincoln-Douglas style debates too. The candidates would have to buy tv time for that because it'd be way too boring for networks to want to host and especially because the media can't control the dialogue of the candidates with playground questions. That said, Trump wouldn't do it and Kasich wouldn't square off against Cruz as he's already proven by passing up on his chance to take him one on one in the FOX debate that got cancelled. Cruz would kill in a rapid fire debate like you're talking about. He's too smart and quick. Kasich just couldn't keep up the pace and Trump wouldn't stick to the rules.

~

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,

Dada's gonna buy you a mockingbird.

And if that mockingbird don't sing,

Dada's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,

Dada's gonna buy you a looking glass.

And if that looking glass is broke,

Dada's gonna buy you a billy goat,

And if that billy goat won't pull,

Dada's gonna buy you a cart and a bull.

And if that cart and bull turn over,

Dada's gonna buy you a dog named Rover.

And if that dog named Rover won't bark,

Dada's gonna buy you a horse and a cart.

And if that horse and cart fall down,

you'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.

When dada moves in to the White House

You can't wear any low cut revealing blouse ...

It might have evolved into something that transcends the present uproar over Trump. It might have become a needed referendum on our current system.

This is going to be interesting to watch. Both conventions are in July, first the Republican and a week later, the Democrat. All Clinton needs to do is wait to see what happens. Also, even in a National Election, there is also a write in ballot. People do seem to be in an uproar.

Actually, he inherited quite a bit more than people think. Most people think the only money he got was the "One million dollar" loan. But his father had a net worth of $250-400 million when he passed away and well as a ton of NY properties.

Lots of numbers floating around in regard to that. He stated that his father leant him $200,000 after college, but Trump certainly has a history of both under and over exaggeration. When his father died, again, all kinds of figures; anything from a $40-200 million inheritance.

For what it's worth, though, he was supposedly already worth one to two billion at the time of his father's death.
