I don't know. How about a unit? How much more bland and lacking of individuality can you get?

I pity the fool who calls me some ridiculously, politically correct name like a unit. :gun:

My wife got delayed at the Gate trying to enter Camp Pendleton yesterday. She was selected to be searched-- every compartment of her vehicle and with the bomb dogs sniffing.... She asked the Marines why they were bothering with her vehicle in particular, and they told her that she had been randomly selected. She said, well maybe you should be a little less random and a little more selective and not bother with the likes of her... Last we checked it wasn't blond-haired, blue-eyed women in their forties that were considered high threats.

But Political Correctness prevents our Marines from searching "just anybody" that "looks suspicious." Gosh-- in the old days, we called that "a clue."

They search by numbers. 5,000 Marines come through the gates in uniform, would you say that none of them need to be searched? I lived on an Army base for 8 years, and went through numerous random searches coming through the gate with my family. Tell your wife to suck it up, and stop giving them a hard time. They are just doing their job.

They do searches for more than just terrorists. They look for other contraband like drugs, alcohol, weapons, etc. - even things like prostitutes trying to sneak in. My last base had the military police escort off an ex-wife who was stalking her former husband and who managed to sneak in.

If someone doesn't know my name I am neither their comrade, pal, buddy, honey or sweetheart. I address people as sir or ma'am according to how they present themselves. If it is difficult to ascertain I avoid references to their gender at all.

I suppose public toilets in the future will read "penis" or "vagina".

With respect, it's an ineffective politically correctness-driven methodology. It's the same ridiculousness that has TSA agent searching grandma in the wheelchair while waving a nervous, sweating wannabe martyr right on through.

Be selective. That's all I'm saying.

It is not AT ALL driven by political correctness. 100% of personnel that aren't cleared to enter the base get searched. Personnel who are military, or DoD employees or contractors have ID and gate passes to let them on base. They are cleared. Those are the only personnel that get randomly searched.

Be prejudicial, that's what you're saying.

Because of course, white women are never a threat.

From the 2nd link:

Based on the self-reports of victims of violence, women account for about 14% of violent offenders--an annual average of about 2.1 million violent female offenders.

But let's only look at them darkies, mmmmkay?
