Merc14 Posted July 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Looks more like a colossal squid to me https://en.wikipedia.../Colossal_squid I agree. The Giant has those two extremely long tentacles and longer arms all around. Also a slimmer, longer mantle.

Four Winds Posted July 24, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2015 does it really matter which type of squid it is? its still big It matters to me, the colossal squid is even more elusive than the giant squid, so this to me is more exciting than a giant squid

Sundew Posted July 24, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 24, 2015 I agree with the consensus: Colossal Squid. Still, that's something you don't see every day! That'a a lot of calamari!
GoPlayonAhighway Posted July 24, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 24, 2015 They should have shot it. Keep it as a specimen or trophy, then charge people money to view it! Shame letting it go like that..
bubblykiss Posted July 24, 2015 #16 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Was the squid seen in the Ukraine? If it was then it must have been volunteer fishermen that witnessed it.

Anomalocaris Posted July 25, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Tasty deep fried in batter with garlic salt. Some time ago, a biologist said that these animals have have too much ammonia, and that therefore it would not be a good idea to eat these creatures. Oh bother, with that much ammonia it would be better suited to scrub a ships deck

Kiltedmusician Posted July 25, 2015 #22 Share Posted July 25, 2015 With the increase in body size comes an increase in brain size. If it is meant to be this big instead of being an overgrown garden variety squid then a bigger brain is probably part of its genetics. The biggest squid there is also happens to be the most elusive? I wonder just how smart they are.

Stupidest thing i have read on these forums. Hopefully some aliens will shoot you and put you on display as a trophy. What they should have done is given it the fish.
