From link -

The authority added that the aircraft failed to make scheduled contact with Cyprus air traffic control 23 minutes after take-off and disappeared from the radar.

Bit odd...

Few bits from various Russian media: crew reported having problems with one of the engines long before this flight; before disappearance crew reported problem with transmitter; at some point plane started to descend at 6000 ft/min...

RIP for the dead. I can't imagine having several minutes to think about it.

It's hard to imagine how anyone could still be alive.

Voices have been heard inside the wreckage of the Russian passenger plane which crashed over central Sinai with 224 people on board, according to Egyptian search and rescue officials.

An officer at the scene, who requested anonymity, told news agency Reuters: "...We hope to find survivors especially after hearing pained voices of people inside."

Very sad indeed. If there are some people still alive they need to get on it and get them out.

I doubt this was anything more than a tragic accident. I wouldn't be surprised if the conspiracy theorists jump on this one. Revenge for shooting down the jet over Ukraine.

Unless they have SAMs in the area other then low altitude Manpads, they did not shoot down the aircraft.

Thats the scary part. If they DID have that technology where did it come from and how is Russia gonna take it. Leaked documents show ISIS was created by the US and Israel, Russia has basically already accused the US of funding ISIS. This could be VERY messy

No mayday was made, pilots lose consinous?

If it were a Payne Stewart type decompression (which i am assuming you are referring to by losing consciousness) the aircraft would have continued on its flight path until it ran out of fuel.

Sort of like Ukrainian rebels using Buk system to shoot down a civilian airliner? Karma's a relentless thing.

I assume then they've never actually met a Russia.

It might MIGHT work on another nation, all this is going to do is p*** the Russians off.

Yeah... Lets see what weapons ISIS have in their hands -> Weapons of ISIS/ISIL. And there it is - soviet made SAM SA-6 (predecessor of Buk system)...

BTW, Russians are fighting ISIL and other anti-Assad groups with the help of islamists/jihadists...

It should be noted that there were issues with the technical integrity of the flight before it took-off, according to the co-pilot communications. Given such, the aircraft apparently experienced some type of critical emergency in-flight, and made way to the nearest airport to land.

Something happened upon their controlled descent.

Edit: R.I.P. to all on-board. What a tragic end to a vacation, and with 17 children caught-up in the disaster. Dang.
