In my long experience in Presidential elections here in the U.S., I've never known such dangerous candidates running for office.

Let's see... meglomanaical business man, proven liar and incompetent former Sec State or a profoundly intelligent physician who "enhances" his CV.... thinking..thinking..

My guess is that the America of 2016 will swoon for the sleazy liar. The mind truly boggles. I think Cruz is the best candidate but I think the MSM will push the Donald's case until he's almost the nominee then they'll find something to savage him and leave the Right with someone the Hildebeast can walk over.

And we though our politicians had a shaky grasp on reality....

Seriously though, giving all the reports on the crop of candidates for the Republican nomination, what are you going to vote for? The entire bunch seems to be either mad, abusive, liars, or unable to get into office because by the looks of it, could barely operate as a grown adult! Look, there's that man Cruz. Giving all that how hah over Obama Cruz really isn't a man who was born in the States. Carson here seems to be too much a man of faith - and that worries me that some of your more rabid believers have very odd ideas - but has come out with some right odd ideas. Jeb Bush is stuffed due to his brother (and that new campaign slogan, Jeb'll will fix it? What I say next will mean sod all to a lot of you in the US, but over here that slogan is now more mired with Jimmy Saville. So just when somebody makes that link it might really bugger up Jeb Bush's attempt). The lone female candidate who's name I've forgot how to spell, when she got caught making up statistics and lying, promptly blamed the media for telling the audience. Then we have the demands from the mob crying because they think it's unfair to get "gotcha" questions. That's the whole idea! You're meant to get horrible questions to make you sweat! And Trump? That blowhard has done his best to hack off various countries. He may appeal to that bunch of the electorate that likes that sort of hyperbole, sounds all so popular, but it really doesn't work well when dealing in major global problems.

You really have got a right bunch to chose from. And there's not much choice on either side!

I agree, we had a collection of cranks before but this year takes the cookie.... and the scariest part is: The two biggest cranks are ahead.

and in related news:

Carson lied about West Point acceptance

WASHINGTON, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Ben Carson's presidential campaign admitted on Friday he lied about his application and acceptance into the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

In Carson's book, Gifted Hands, he writes that in 1969, when he was 17 years old, he met with Gen. William Westmoreland, who just ended commanding U.S. forces in Vietnam. Carson said they dined together and the meeting led to a "full scholarship" into the military academy.

But West Point has no record of Carson applying or being admitted.

Should Iowa be a state? I mean they go for the crazies every election. Are they like zombies or stepford wives there? there has to be a twilight zone where you leave Chicago and end up in some desolate place with inbred cultists who smile a lot..and its Iowa.

Taking both Democrats and Republicans into account, this is by far the worst bunch of scmucks ever put forward.

Even the independents are not taking advantage and putting a strong candidate out their.

Yes Iowa should be a state and yes, they almost infallibly finger point at the (Republican) crank running.... despite allmost all local and state elections are being won by Republicans. For all those turning green by now: whatever Rep comes out ahead in Iowa will most certainly not win the nomination. A Dem on the contrary has very good chances of doing so.

Not for the lack of wanting, but for the lack of having.

We all know Dr. Carson is a religious nut but the scary part to me is that a large chunk of the GOP actually support his views.

While I agree this is not the best lineup this party ever put forward, there are in fact more ''moderate'' Conservative candidates like Marco Rubio.

..."lack of having" media coverage and super pacs plays a huge role.

It is also a "lack of having a suitable candidate", and no, Ron Paul is not one either.
