Germany shocked by Cologne New Year gang

of course it doesnt make it better ... to me it was clear that all this will happen and i still cant understand Merkel and her crew that allowed such things on such a large scale . The real syrians suffer still while the rest of the scum that cant or wont do anything in their own country suck others dry ... it is unfair ... but i stick to my opinion , i think it was done for a reason there is something else behind all of this mass migration

Merkel and her crew does not have a choice as the German constitution states that persecuted have to be given refuge. And it does not state that there is an upper limit to the amount of refugees that Germany has to take in. The law also states that people from war zones are persecuted persons so every Syrian who gets to Germany has to be given asylum until the war there ends. That may mean that more Tunisians, Moroccans and Iraqis get kicked out for lack of space but with the Syrians they have no choice.

i am all for helping syria or any other war torn country ... but the rest , nope ... i do understand what you say but when is enough , enough ? As far as i can think back germany has always took more ... i mean , how can they live with what is happening in germany right now ?...they knew that it was causing so many problems ... i have many german friends and some go as far as saying that all this is done to make it a police state ... i dunno , it is just so frustrating to watch all this unfold

Well, yes in the 90s half Yugoslavia was in Germany (and those were by far more than Syrians now), and before that most of Eritrea and Southern Sudan. But that does not mean that they have a choice. And don't feel sorry for them, the benefits they reaped in the aftermath always outweighed the hardships during the crisis.

It will be no different in Syria once the war is over, Mercedes trucks and Volkswagen cars will sell better than whatever was sold there before. Siemens will deliver most of the kitchen appliances and electronic hospital equipment and AEG most of the new electric generator stations and railroad equipment and all that will be build by Germans, emigrants and whoever are the refugees at that time.

Cologne's mayor has said no evidence migrants involved, local police say known gang and evidence assaults as distraction for crime.l think it good advice for girls to cover up and have male escorts (now who has always advocated that?)

No, the good advice is to round the whole gang up and lock them into some disused prison until their beards grow out under the door. It is shameful when in a country, for whatever reason, a woman cannot go alone out in the street. Especially in Europe.

But in some countries shame seems to have another meaning.....

Guys walk their date home, and that is expected, just as it is expected that the date's father has a good look at the guy (and scare him off by being overly eager to have the guy join his family if he does not like him). But not every gal has a date.

It would be nice if some people would provide sources for their statements.

Isn't it winter there? How uncovered could they be?

We always make sure no one ever leaves alone on girl's night out. I would walk my friends to their cars and then they would drive me to mine.

The Street Carnival is about to start (in serious because in Germany it starts on Nov 11th and lasts until Ash Wednesday but it gets serious about a month from Rose Monday)... and that means short of stark naked.

If you think that the German media is such weak to permit to get censored, than your knowledge about the German media is

below zero. Just one example out of various. In 2011 our former Federal President Christian Wulff tried to subdue a newspaper

article that was to his disadvantage. So the party started and he got barbecued first and than eaten by the German media

with the result that he quit his job some weeks later on.

That must be why Reddit was censoring links to the story until Chancellor Merkel was forced to acknowledge it.

Or why state-run broadcasting station ZDF was heavily delayed in reporting on it; in fact, they have received harsh criticism for deliberately not reporting it.

They resorted to apologizing on social media after the immense backlash. Why? Because they didn't report it until they were forced to acknowledge it.

You are not prepared at a level that is required to join and to participate to the discussion. If you wanna join, you have to

stay on the facts but if not, shutup forever.

Resorting to condescending remarks and subtle insults is a bit juvenile; I was a member for 5 years before you joined this board. I think I have a decent idea of how this site functions.

With varying perspectives, you're going to have varying opinions. Everyone is going to have a different opinion, that is obvious.

Especially with a situation as precarious as this one, where the facts are being unraveled at a slower rate because of the censorship.

If you must present your opinions, please do so in a more tactful way; if you're so self-righteous, and live in Germany, go on the streets and do something about it?

But you probably won't.. You'll sit back and watch your culture be deconstructed while anyone who stands up is called a racist.

If I lived there, I wouldn't hesitate to confront a group of five or more men. At least I wouldn't wimp out while my nation's women are being molested in a coordinated assault.

And no less, by the very same people your country graciously welcomed.

Whether or not there were 60 or some odd offenders or 1000; the fact remains that they would group up against individual women or groups of women like feral savages.

All the while being told to stop by the women as the savaged them; but alas, the migrants did not speak German - not like that would have stopped them if they did.

The cultures they were raised in also permit them to view Western women as harlots who deserve it.. Enabling their behavior, or lack thereof.

Meanwhile the mayor of Cologne has blamed the women, not the damn attackers..

ZDF isn't state-run but publicly funded. It's an independent non-profit station. What does that tell about your German media competence?

Edit: From the witness' and victim's account did the offenders indeed speak German, and while seemingly being from North Africa, it does not look like they were refugees, but rather already in Germany for a much longer time.

I'm almost convinced you're a troll with the statements you've been making, either that or you believe that women should be second class citizens who deserve to be in danger for leaving the home without protection(edit: male protection that is) or wearing clothing they enjoy. I can understand women having to take precautions to avoid danger, but the end goal should be to remove the dangers to women(rapists and other thugs), not insulate women from the dangers(don't go out and cover up) and ignore them, calling it a job well done.

Regardless, I'm going to avoid feeding you by ignoring your comments from now on.

You got me wrong wikian.I'm male and I like girls in skimpy clothes, flirtatious behaviour etc. Nothing more normal to us in the west. But Europe is trying to assimilate millions with a different culture. Just as we expect them to accept our culture, we need to accept their culture as they are guests. If they are offended by naked legs,it is common courtesy to covrr them. Also accompany with males in public places.

A very simple analogy. You are hosting a dinner party. Some of the guests are veggies. Do you insist they eat meat? No,you offer veg alternative s.

These poor people are guests from war torn backward countries. They will soon return to rebuild them.

It took five days of immense pressure from social media before the "German independent quality-media" was forced to report about these disgusting incidents.

These are the results of continuous irresponsible politics of people who are living in a fantasy-world and are only interested in their own career.

And it will get much worse.

Even the police at the scene thought it was people from ME or North Africa. I don't know I still think there is a cover up and blaming it on local gangs may be just a distraction. If they weren't interested in covering something up why not report it immediately.

Most I agree are refugees looking for support and somewhere safe to live.

But - I simply do not believe that all were / or are genuine. I still carry much doubt.

Hopefully - after the cancer of ISIS is finally stamped out - I hope that many of these people do go back to their homelands - rebuild - and settle once again.

They may need much of the worlds help with the rebuilding - but in the long run - it would be far better that way IMHO.

Is there anything anywhere that actually says so? Everything I have read has had very different facts..
