Guest Posted December 14, 2004 #26 Share Posted December 14, 2004 There must be something really wrong going on if people are viewing a Canadian and American to be 2 completely different things... Stop worrying about money and unite you fools! 403692 ....... NO.
gollum Posted December 14, 2004 #27 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I travelled around Canada a few years back, places like Lake Louise, Lake Moraine and other beautiful areas in the rockies. I can honestly say that the Canadians I met were the nicest people you could wish to be around.
Daughter of the Nine Moons Posted December 14, 2004 #28 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Gee isn't it wonderful that allies and neighbors think so highly of each other. This thread does nothing more than feed hostilities and prejudices both sides have. For myself I have traveled some in Canada and found both wonderful and ignorant people. Ditto for my travels to the US. I am Canadian and proud of it but I am equally proud of my American friends. So pfft on all your sniping and nitpicking get out a Nurf football and play a game. Babs Posted December 15, 2004 #29 Share Posted December 15, 2004 Canada bashes the U.S. but that doesn't stop them from accepting our money. Besides they have all but eliminated their military because they know we can protect them. Now Canada uses the money saved on their Military to role into their socialist programs that they bash the U.S. for not having. 401225 I'm tired of Canada bashing us. We are not 'big brother' and we don't want to 'protect' Canada. Most people say _"Oh, you mean that country up there?" When I visited, the people were very nice, but I had a hard time relating to them as they were so low-key. I thought I was asleep half the time. We were at the hospital at the time Bush went to Canada and his visit was plastered all over tv (CNN is on in all the hospitals) and my husband and myself along with many staff members watched as Canadians protested Bush. My husband looked at me and said..."Well, what do you expect ...they're French!" Well, yes they are_ French Canadian.

Babs Posted December 15, 2004 #31 Share Posted December 15, 2004 I think you missed the point. These are my experiences and Canada bashes us. You can dish it out but can't take it comin' back, I see. I say let's bash Canada! BASH BASH BASH! Everyone was enthralled watching that tv at the hospital. I wasn't listening to the news people talk, I was watching and searching faces and body language of the protesters. I think most people were. It was very interesting to see the faces... and how they reacted to the American president.

Whom_God_Loves Posted December 15, 2004 #35 Share Posted December 15, 2004 Canadians in general are not that bad, their media is just as liberal bias as our mainstream media and because Republicans are in charge as of late they are very negative towards us. Disinterested please you can have back Dan Akroyd and Brian Adams, ok?

When did we ever give them to you Americans anyway? Attacking someone personally means you don't have anything to say, Disinterested. *sigh* I have plenty to say. I just don't bother arguing with you, because it's quite pointless. You've been proven wrong countless times, but you still stand by your statements no matter how false they are. Some people still try arguing with you, but I don't.

NOTHING. I could say ALL Scots are a bunch of raging drunks. But I dont think that. That statement I used as an example is not racist. Its what we call a stereotype. Maybe predjudiced, but not racist. Babs said somethings that might be STEREOTYPICAL or maybe PREJUDICED. But you have no ground to stand on or right to call her a racist. If you think your phenotype and race which you categorize into is superior to another race than that is racism. Racism has nothing to do with... Religion. Spirituality. Government. Politics. Nations.
