Examples of a racist remark:

A white person (english, scot, american, canadian or whatever country of origin) calls an Arab a sand ni***r.

A black person calls a white person a honkey or cracker or whitey.

A latino calls a white person a gringo.

A latino gets called a Spick.

I can go on, but I wont. I know what I am talking about because I have been the victim of racism myself. Just like maybe some of the people on this thread.

One thing I will reveal, I am white, I am Latino as well. I speak Spanish and Portuguese. I am also in a multi-racial or bi-racial relationship. I have seen the looks I get when I am with my fiance. Ana Paula has been a victim of racism as well. I have been called Spick and worse. I have been the victim of reverse racism by Latinos that have called me whitey and gringo and such. But the only thing we can do is feel sorry for them.

But unfortunately people get STEROTYPES and RACISM mixed up when one has nothing to do with the other.

And your basic claim seems to be you can only be racist against people of different skin colours. That nonsense. Race does not cover just skin colours, it also covers ethnic groups, and just because a bunch of people have the same skin colour means that they are the same ethnic group. The Nazis killed 20 million Slavs in world war 2 because they believed them to be an inferior race, this racism, despite both populations being white.

It wasn't that far off. Someone was being prejudice against a group of people, and whether or not you want to call it racism depends on your own personal definition. I'm tired of Canada bashing us. We are not 'big brother' and we don't want to 'protect' Canada. Most people say _"Oh, you mean that country up there?"

When I visited, the people were very nice, but I had a hard time relating to them as they were so low-key. I thought I was asleep half the time. 

We were at the hospital at the time Bush went to Canada and his visit was plastered all over tv (CNN is on in all the hospitals) and my husband and myself along with many staff members watched as Canadians protested Bush. My husband looked at me and said..."Well, what do you expect ...they're French!"

Well, yes they are_ French Canadian.

Not true, it racism. Just because you have the same skin colour as someone does not mean you can't be racist against them. Whiet people can be racist against white people, for example the news always refers to English vs Scottish attacks or discrimination as 'racist'. Maybe your claim is what racism means in the US, but that doesn't transfer to everyone else, in Britain for example when asked for your race by a survey it doesn't have white, black, and asian but a list of ethnic origins such as Scottish, Welsh, English, Irish, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, American etc etc

Attacks on ethnic groups is racism.

Here's a dictionary definition of racism, one ine reads; "The stereotypical characterization, usually negative, of members of ethnic groups by the members of other ethnic groups. "
