The riddle of the Sphinx has confounded generations of tourists and experts alike. Who built it, why, and what does it mean? Now a leading Egyptologist believes that he has pieced together the puzzle. After researching the pyramids of the Giza Plateau and their imposing half-human, half-animal guardian for 20 years, Vassil Dobrev of the French Archaeological Institute in Cairo has concluded that the Sphinx was the work of a forgotten pharaoh.

There was a tv program on the discovery channel a few days ago about this, it's interesting. I like the other theory better though, that the sphinx is a lot older than what people believe it is but this theory seems more closer to the truth.

Enough guessing!

Let us cut it open and see what is inside. If it is just another piece of grandiose art without a clue to humanity's purpose, than we shall restore and improve it, and it shall last another thousand years for us to... look at in amazement... and keep historians guessing, arguing, and fooling about which pharaoh built it, if the ufos helped to build it, or if there was a big flood or a group of crazy beduins who got together in a circle and urinated on it to cause the water damage that the Sphinx has in a desert.

Hey, maybe it was a traditional ancient Egyptian urinal...? All the Egyptians got together during festivals and sacred holidays and urinated on it to honor their god Ra and glorious pharaoh!!!

"Yep, that there's the Sphinx, looks good, don't it?"

"Cool, pop! How old is it?"

"'Bout 20-30 years. The old one was was kinda like it, but it was all torn up. This one's nicer. Only took us a fraction of the time to build it too."

Tearing up teh sphinx would be a crime against our history, we will one day figure out all its secrets without having to rip it down, it may take a damn lot longer but this monument will continue to stand tall and remind us of what we humans can achieve!
