UM-Bot Posted January 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2016 A comprehensive archive of declassified CIA reports from the 1940s and 1950s has been posted online. The reports, which were originally declassified back in 1978, came from a time when Cold War tensions, the emergence of the space program and the prevalence of invading aliens in science fiction movies had catapulted interest in the UFO phenomenon to unprecedented levels. FateAmeniableToChange Posted January 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2016 I dont have much time for FOI releases regarding declassified files etc,as if you want to be even a little bit cynical or paranoid then you can only be thinking that any information they dont want out stays classified! Or undeclared/buried

highdesert50 Posted January 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2016 While it is interesting to speculate upon the remote possibility of alien visitation and the like, it is equally important that we make ourselves aware of the possibility of more naturally occurring explanations. For example, people do experience hallucinations as a result of exhaustion, fever, sleep deprivation, drug use, extended grief, trauma and illnesses, such as schizophrenia. Schizophrenia affects about one percent of the population and is characterized by auditory and visual hallucinations that may be associated with delusional thinking. A good read is Dr Oliver Sack's Hallucinations. As we all know, good research is characterized by thorough background research.
pallidin Posted January 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2016 From that site I found this: http://www.foia.cia.gov/sites/default/files/document_conversions/89801/DOC_0000015339.pdf Page 6 of 7, Paragraph 8, subsection c. "In order to minimize risk of panic, a national policy should be established as to what should be told the public regarding the phenomena." regeneratia Posted February 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Probably didn't release them all. That is one of their tricks, to release enough to placate the masses. Either you KNOW that UFO or whatever they hades they are exist ... or you don't know it. From that site I found this: http://www.foia.cia...._0000015339.pdf Page 6 of 7, Paragraph 8, subsection c. "In order to minimize risk of panic, a national policy should be established as to what should be told the public regarding the phenomena." Why on earth would we panic at this point in time? Now there is the thinking that much of what the masses who believe could indeed by our own shadow government or secret space programs that are doing what we were attributing to UFOs for quite some time, including abductions.
