UM-Bot Posted January 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2016 The SpaceX CEO is hoping to see a manned mission to Mars happen within the space of just nine years. Chibadiba Posted January 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Imo it would be best to set up a base on the Moon before going to Mars.
pallidin Posted January 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Yeah, to be sure. A manned mission to Mars is serious stuff. Not sure what to think about it at this time. I've heard anything from "great job" to "suicide mission" I think it's somewhere in between.

gatekeeper32 Posted February 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) If you research the history of exploration there is always death to follow those in the first batch. Any volunteers for the first rocket. Edited February 15, 2016 by gatekeeper32
Peter B Posted February 15, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2016 If you research the history of exploration there is always death to follow those in the first batch. Any volunteers for the first rocket. Funnily enough, I think if the offer was made (and it was serious) there'd be no end of volunteers, almost regardless of the level of risk.
