Yep, it's a big ol' dirt dump like I said. Honesty still has nothing to do with it. One can spend their entire lives honestly focused on dirt. Tyrants can punish people they don't agree with. I'm going to spend my precious time looking for better. And sometimes finding it, even in the church. *gasp!*

Honesty is what it is all about, and you just said it was honest, you cannot make your own mind up Yam, no wonder you need a leader to tell you what to do.

Yep, one big fat tyrant is what I am talking about, that bigoted, misogynistic capricious genocidal maniacal tyrant that you refer to as God.

I don't need a leader to tell me what to do. I just say "don't tell me what to do" in the first place. Why in the world would I vote for someone who doesn't get that? You're just doing the same thing most other people do too often as well. Find dirt on a group and sling it, the implication in the exercise being that the group is universally bad. It's played out daily between political groups here and it gets mindnumbingly monotonous. Republicans are anti-democrat, conservatives are anti-liberal, freedom loving patriots are anti-socialist et al, versa vice, yada yada. The atheism and agnosticism of Bill Maher's herd, and in the Democratic party generally, isn't producing better ideas or policies as a matter of record. Democrats are awesome for Wall St., which becomes a substitute for what our values are when we can no longer accept traditional values carried over from religion.

What do you think relgion "is"? It does little more than tell you what to do, what to believe and how to live - you call that freedom do you?

Why in the world would I vote for someone who doesn't get that?

It seems to be slipping past you on the Sunday you mention above.

You're just doing the same thing most other people do too often as well. Find dirt on a group and sling it, the implication in the exercise being that the group is universally bad. It's played out daily between political groups here and it gets mindnumbingly monotonous.

How so? Because relgion can be proven to be false, and hurt many people?

Republicans are anti-democrat, conservatives are anti-liberal, freedom loving patriots are anti-socialist et al, versa vice, yada yada.

And relgion just continues to divide people further.

The atheism and agnosticism of Bill Maher's herd, and in the Democratic party generally, isn't producing better ideas or policies as a matter of record.

How would you know when an atheist is the second last choice for president, and s=considered as trustworthy as a rapist? Indoctrination much?

Democrats are awesome for Wall St., which becomes a substitute for what our values are when we can no longer accept traditional values carried over from religion.

Again, you are rambling and not making sense. Been Tommy Chonging on today have we?

Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about.

Did you find that in Church?

Did I find that in church? Nope, I never found that in church, and if you ever go to church, you won't either.

What do I think religion is? I think it's a mixed bag like all bags. Religion provides a moral compass. Religion brings people together in peace, communion and celebration. It provides services to communities that aren't yet being provided by the Atheist Alliance LLC. It provides life saving surgeries to a church member who can't afford it. It provides health and wellness via cell reproduction. If you're regenerating 800 million and losing 1 billion a day, you ought to be happy to take charge of your health and turn the tide and reverse that deficit, to stop shrinking your hippocampus in a constant state of toxic stress and fight or flight especially over such petty hatred of other people.

What a big tyrant? I beg to differ.

What do I think religion is? I think it's a mixed bag like all bags.

Didn't ask you that, your opinions have no impact on me as they tend to be rather silly most of the time.

Religion provides a moral compass.

Religion stole the best qualities of man and claims them, no, man provided the moral compass, relgion abducted it.

Religion brings people together in peace, communion and celebration.

It divides people with false superiority complexes.

It provides services to communities that aren't yet being provided by the Atheist Alliance LLC.

Plenty of secular charities, a large list posted a couple pages back.

It provides life saving surgeries to a church member who can't afford it.

It lies and thanks God for a doctor's hard work and study.

It provides health and wellness via cell reproduction.

Rubbish.

If you're regenerating 800 million and losing 1 billion a day, you ought to be happy to take charge of your health and turn the tide and reverse that deficit, to stop shrinking your hippocampus in a constant state of toxic stress and fight or flight especially over such petty hatred of other people.

It is not the people, you are just a particularly difficult poster to deal with. And not in a good way. I hate relgion, not the people, I also hate cancer, but not the people who have it.

Secular doesn't determine theism from atheism anymore than Catholics from Agnostics.

It lies and thanks God for a doctor's hard work and study.

Religion does more for our health than doctors do. Medical care is a total mismanaged mess or else a brilliant fraud. It's killing more Americans every day than the churches across America ever will. If you've got to vent at something that's an imminent threat to your life too, turn your rage on modern medical care and doctors. We'll all die miserably on cocktails of drugs just so long as we're distracted by enemies, goblins and bogeymen while we do it for them.

Educate yourself.

Here, start with the Dictionary:

secular

adjective

1.

not connected with religious or spiritual matters.

What a load of Garbage - are you an anti vaxxer too?

People like you are why relgion is seen in such a dim light these days. Well done.

Sorry man you can't seriously be defending modern medicine can you? Rather uneducated view point on your part. As an example in 2011 doctors killed roughly 64 times the amount of people than guns did in America. there is a reason they call it practicing medicine .

That doesnt even begin to touch on the thousands if not millions of needless prescriptions handed out daily, the VAST majority of which offer side effects which are by far worse than the original complaint. In the US doctors (Emergency folks aside) have become little more than pushers for whichever pharmaceutical company gives them the biggest/best/most swag.

I would point you towards the current US DEA chief's recent statements on medical marijuana to highlight how twisted the medical community has become. Despite the fed governments own National Cancer Institute showing that cannabis stops cancer cell growth (among with a litany of other scientific studies showing benefits in other areas) the DEA chief JUST LAST NOVEMBER called medical marijuana a joke. Now why would he do that? Its NOT a scientific position, oh because he is in the pocket of the pharmaceutical companies too.

Secular cannot decipher theism from atheism. I'm a secularist, I'm also a theist. They are not mutually exclusive. They overlap in pairs.

We already are a secular society. So much rage over nothing. You will only destroy yourself hating others.

Any society that mandates in school swearing oaths "under God" isn't secular.

It might not be a theocracy, but it has an inherent bias towards theists.

Good thing our courts have said that you can't mandate that in the U.S. then...

Yes the pledge has that line in it but students cannot be compelled to recite it.

Its amazing how many people dont realize "under god" was added during the cold war.

Edit to add i wasnt implying that YOU don't . Just saying in general people seem to think under god has been part of our nation since its inception.

Ohh man, come on, am I dealing with Anti Vaxxers here????

That nonsense was made up by "Health Ranger" Mike Adams. I do not suppose you considered checking that at a reliable source like Snopes perhaps?

It's BS.

LINK - Target Malpractice - No, a study didn't prove doctors are more deadly than guns.

Seriously mate, I take it you do not know anyone who has been saved by modern medicine? It gave me an extra 20 years with my father when his heart gave out, it allows people to walk again, it cures diseases that would otherwise kill, how's Polio in your country lately? Ever seen a baby have a life saved? I know two people who had children born with serious heart defects corrected by modern medicine, dead set, I think they would have quite a rebuttal to your claim.

My sister works on the Breast Cancer team in Edinburgh I would like to see you make that claim to her face. Yes, there are corrupt sectors, there are corrupt individuals, to state that "Medicine" is corrupt is insane crazy talk and detrimental to your own existence. My child has had surgery, I would kiss the Docs feet for my childs good health, this sort of paranoia is really bad and something you should consult other with, I just hope you are not completely off the deep and into anti vaxxer territory with the complete nut jobs. Not saying you are, but if you go that path, well then the shoe will indeed fit.

Who do you think ousts the bad doctors? Good doctors. Who else really has the knowledge to make that call? Nobody.

People gotta make money, you think the billions the NRA pulls in every year is 100% legit? Fair go, trade is trade. because they fleece it for hypochondriacs is not their problem, I do work for a Pharmaceutical Company here form time to time, in fact we are just about to do a major upgrade on their factory, they took a weed that nobody paid attention to, and made it into a cream that cures skin cancer. And it works. I have seen the processes, the drying, the powdering, the belts, warmers heaters, coolers, that go into these processes. If they charge a bit more in order to have a comfortable life for saving many, and relieving many symptoms, who are you to deny them that privilege? Are you saying it is their role to provide Pharmaceuticals at bargain basement prices and scrape along, because I do not agree.

They also have to pay for the very best quality equipment to make these products, it is not something where mistakes are acceptable.

What this?

There are pieces of marijuana — extracts or constituents or component parts — that have great promise,” he continued. “But if you talk about smoking the leaf of marijuana, which is what people are talking about when they talk about medicinal marijuana, it has never been shown to be safe or effective as medicine.

This is what he is obviously referring to:

Depending on the individual patient, and the cannabinoid content and potency of the cannabis strain, effects wear off almost completely within 90 minutes to 4 hours. Regularly smoking any plant material, including marihuana for health reasons, can have a negative impact, which is why Harborside Health Center recommends patients use vaporizers or edible forms of medicinal cannabis whenever possible.

LINK

That is accountability and something we should do more often. People took a knee jerk reaction to a fair statement. Someone might smoke medical Marijuana and develop other ailments which they would then be also held accountable for.

Would people still be as supporting of CBD extracted form cannabis as they are to have THC laden cannabis do you think? I reckon that would tell us exactly how genuine both parties are, don't you?

No they do not, I posted the Dictionary definition, this is Not Yampedia or Yams world, in the real world, we have Dictionaries. I will not consider your personal definition correct over the Dictionary, which you do not seem to have a copy of?

Lucky for the Internet hey, - here you go again.

secular

adjective

1.

not connected with religious or spiritual matters.

See - "Not connected with religious or spiritual matters"

We already are a secular society.

Sort of yeah, that's the point. It is on a tipping point and the evidence abounds.

So much rage over nothing.

Discussion is not rage, disagreeing with Yam is not rage. You are wrong, deal with it, really, you should be used to that by now.

You will only destroy yourself hating others.

Disagreement is not hate, being observant is not hate. Thinking they are is stupid though.

Get your flu shots every year and squirt those neurotoxins into your bloodstream. What good's a brain anyway.

Yep, not a problem with flu shots. Cheap and effective. Better than the stuff you are self medicating with I'd say.

I never thought that, I thought many people have severely let those founding father down big time with Uzis in city dwellings and relgion in state law systems. I really cannot see enlightened men like that with today as a vision.

What connection did I have with spiritual or religious matters in determining my choice for leader of this country? I am not connected. Get a grip. That doesn't mean I'm atheist! If you can't even understand that, we're done. It doesn't have anything to do with the demagoguery from you here regarding what people believe and atheism particularly.

Don't worry about "under God." My students say the pledge everyday and it doesn't mean anything to them. They are just words. They also say "Oh my God" every other sentence, but that doesn't mean they're worshiping Him.

I have to agree with SWoH, why bother? If ir is not meant to have some underlying influence, you would not bother with it. Just like removing relgion form schools altogether. It was standard when I was a kid, it is almost a crime now.

My daughter often says Ohh My God, drives me insane so now I answer her with WHAT NOW!!!!!
