I am also fighting for the rights of others as well. The constitution is something I value a lot, it is quite beautiful written that doesn't place no race or religion above anyone else. Yet here we are today watching Religion dominate the government and it is getting worse with each passing election. Heck the recent laws themselves incorporate religion in it, he Anti-LGBT laws that passed is a violation of the constitution, placing one religion above all other religions.

I have met a few US Atheists on the boards now, and find them absolutely wonderful people who are very smart. I wish you and your colleagues all the best and hope your message gets through. I agree with everything you have said here and honestly feel your insights are very important to your nation. It is terribly sad how some states propose that anyone in office should have belief in a creator, even if an alternative is provided. Mate, I have read quite a few of Thomas Jefferson's quotes, and he just impresses the heck out of me. That man was insightful to say the least.

The founding fathers understood the dangers off organized religion. They were fresh off a war with England that was controlled by the churches at the time. Heck they went out of their way to make sure everyone understood, with hundreds of quotes and sayings, as well as using the newspaper to explain to the residents. *Rolls Eyes.*

We had all trust in our founding fathers for they are the ones that written the constitution the way it is, promising atheists the same freedoms as everyone else. You know what? Atheists can't hold office in several states, Atheists can't tell their religion without being discriminated against by job hiring bosses, and Atheists most picked on by the politicians that seem to not understand the constitution. You are trying so hard to paint me in the bad light, making me out as targeting Christians, but you got to understand, us Atheists have a legitimate fear of Christians who are very vocal about their hatred towards us. It be like Hitler rising to power because he blamed the Jews.

Also Skeletor doing Yoga!

You can be Christian and understand the danger of organized religion too. The Founders understood the danger of organized government as well, but they didn't run away from that either, they founded it.

What Christians are very vocal in their hatred? Do you have any public examples or just personal anecdotes? Of course discrimination exists, but I don't see the discrimination of atheists is particularly troubling or on the rise compared to other forms of discrimination. I would think that Atheists are more acceptable in society today than they've ever been.

You can be, but it seems to be living a contradiction to me.

The Founders understood the danger of organized government as well, but they didn't run away from that either, they founded it.

They did not contradict themselves. And they insisted on separation of Church and State. The states that ask their elected representative to have faith in God seems to contravene their wishes and the directions they took. The entire "One Nation Under God" thing seems to contradict everything they stood for.

Have a look at the comments Bush Senior made that I posted up there. The scary part is not that Bush made the comments, it is that he knew this did not affect his election chances.

How about Gallup Polls?

Now what is troubling is that secular environment tend to result in the highest academic achievements, yet these "smartest of the bunch" are soundly ignored due to their superior understanding. Which means a smart Atheist has to lie to the US Public to get elected, or know his chances are severely curbed.

But the ''No Religious Test Clause'' in the U.S. consitution pretty much invalidate these laws. I don't think that's what prevents atheists from being elected. It's the voters who don't seem to relate with atheist politicians. You can't really change that. The U.S. is still very conservative in some ways.

They did not contradict themselves.

If anyone suggests they did, I'd disagree right away. 90% of the Founders were Christian, and they didn't contradict themselves.

He wouldn't want to look like a Muslim and run for President of Australia either or he'd have to lie to you too. So you're not beholden to your own secular statistics, you're just choosing your own special interest group on it.

Lucky for the US that law cannot be forced although some have tried. The people put these additional clauses in, and yes, the public is indoctrinated to think relgion first, hence "One Nation Under God" It is just religious subliminal advertising, and it is working, but not to benefit the US. Just to the benefit of the boys club that retains power.

Yes, the US is overly conservative in some ways, but not others. I do feel these statistics are a wake up call.

No, that is what the current generation largely does.

What's a Muslim look like Yam? Or are you being racist again?

Is this man a Muslim?

1368051197.jpg

And why would he have to lie? Do we have the books written down as saying "Nobody of Muslim Faith may Hold Office in Australia"??? How about these articles that remain as laws in the following states Yam?

Arkansas, Article 19, Section 1:

No person who denies the being of a God shall hold any office in the civil departments of this State, nor be competent to testify as a witness in any Court.

Maryland, Article 37:

That no religious test ought ever to be required as a qualification for any office of profit or trust in this State, other than a declaration of belief in the existence of God; nor shall the Legislature prescribe any other oath of office than the oath prescribed by this Constitution.

Mississippi, Article 14, Section 265:

No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office in this state.

North Carolina, Article 6, Section 8

The following persons shall be disqualified for office: Any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God.

South Carolina, Article 17, Section 4:

No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office under this Constitution.

Tennessee, Article 9, Section 2:

No person who denies the being of God, or a future state of rewards and punishments, shall hold any office in the civil department of this state.

Texas, Article 1, Section 4:

No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office, or public trust, in this State; nor shall any one be excluded from holding office on account of his religious sentiments, provided he acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Being.

That they exist is bad enough, of course we all have redundant laws that should have been removed decades if not centuries ago, but these ones still have a great deal of support from the constituents don't they:

LINK - Councilman under fire for atheism

A conservative group has distributed pamphlets warning locals that Bothwell is "Satan's helper" and a "radical extremist" who is "bashing religion." A supporter of Southern heritage has threatened to sue Asheville for allowing Bothwell to take office.

Luckily, thanks to the wisdom of those who did found the original principles, he was able to affirm his position. But he should not need that safety net. That people went that far as to slander him for religious reasons shows the brainwashing is working, and well on the majority. He would not be in that position if relgion was not being subliminally forced upon each and every citizen.

So back to your question Yam, why would he have to lie to us? What do we have that is similar to that level of bigotry on our books? You are referring to the fears that Fundamental Islam has forced upon the entire globe, and pushed that into a veiled insult unless you can explain your inane comments here?

So you're not beholden to your own secular statistics, you're just choosing your own special interest group on it.

You mean the country who had a female leader? You ever been that open to equality Yam? Who was your first female POTUS?

Nah, I think you are just speaking from your rear end because the other one has nothing. Go ahead and validate your statement Yam. Give it your best shot, we could all use the chuckle.

Oh I know nothing of Australia as a whole, I'm sure it's as bad as you say it is. I'm referring to a Muslim having to hide their Islam from psyche101 in order to be vote worthy. I'm referring to him being what he's complaining about.

When trying to make the "secular" case specifically for atheists, he invited the exact same criticism he's dishing out.

Secularism =/= Atheism.

Okay so you're here for another ball scratching contest on who's better, Australia or the US? I didn't say the US was the most diverse or equal or secular or non-discriminatory country on the planet. Maybe Australia is? You can make that case if you want but there's no argument from me.

When America has a Muslim President, an Atheist President and a Socialist President, everything will be terrific and we can be a fraction as secular as you are. (Totally forgetting all the hatred and intolerance you've posted about Muslims incidentally).

And just to make my own record absolutely clear, I don't support Ted Cruz for President.

The guy I'm supporting for President of the United States, so far all by myself with no help from psyche101 or Uncle Sam - is an atheist.

And Uncle Sam should agree with me now that he knows, if he's genuinely this serious about raising atheists to positions of political power in the USA

Okay so you're here for another ball scratching contest on who's better, Australia or the US?

Nope, just facing up to your typical BS and showing what a steaming pile it is. I actually stated relgion is the evil here, how did you manage to miss that? Couldn't see past your ego perhaps?

I didn't say the US was the most diverse or equal or secular or non-discriminatory country on the planet.

And I never said otherwise, why not stick to the topic Yam, or what I posted? Too uncomfortable for you?

Maybe Australia is? You can make that case if you want but there's no argument from me.

Never said that, we are known for being a Multicultural Nation to those who do have a clue though.

When America has a Muslim President, an Atheist President and a Socialist President, everything will be terrific and we can be a fraction as secular as you are.

Nope, that would suck, relgion and church - separation of state -remember all that stuff?

One Nation Under God is the subliminal advertising you have thrust in your face every day.

(Totally forgetting all the hatred and intolerance you've posted about Muslims incidentally).

Forget what? Easy to do so when you are making it up, I have only mentioned that Fundamental Islam is a problem, and relgion as a whole is evil and should go, you seem to be a little to dim to pick up the details I am guessing? Anyone who promotes and stands by Fundamental Islam is sick in the head. It's all about barbaric religious laws and has not separation of church and state, and operates via ancient barbaric religious laws. All the stuff you do not want to see when you are dismissing the efforts of those preserving your way of life so you can whine and make crap up.

Eradicate religion in Australia first and show me that the cure is better than the poison.

Nobody should be voted in because they are Atheists or Religious people, we should vote on them the way we should have for the longest time. Based on their goals, agenda, and what they hope to accomplish for United States. Basically what they can do for all groups in United States instead of just one group of people above everyone else. That is what we should strive for, upholding the constitutional values, instead of striving for complete control of united states. I just want Separation of Church and State enforced, Religion out of politics, and finally no threat to freedom of religion or freedom from religion.

Pretty much everything you said as usual.

Contest - Nope, religious problem.

Islamic Bigotry - Nope, problem with fundamental Islam. If you don't then you have the problem.

Statistics - Nope, gave you laws form US books to prove the point

Lets face it Yam, you are full of crap and only here to flame others. You make stuff up all the time and just make up unsupported rubbish that gel with your personal views.

Secularism =/= the absence of religion, either. Secularism includes the things you'd just love to remove from society.

Secularism means the relgion has no place in Government of Schools. Your personal rant on how irresponsible you like to be is irrelevant.

Love to, but it would be like removing guns in one state wouldn't it? Someone else will fill the gap for the desperate. Religion won't disappear overnight, it will take education, and as I showed you, other countries are moving forward and leaving you behind. Religion needs to be preserved, like any chapter in human history. The Greek and Roman Gods, once held in the same light the Abrahamic Gods have taken their place in the halls of myth, time for the modern Gods to join them.

Secularism is the principle of the separation of government institutions and persons mandated to represent the state from religious institutions and religious dignitaries.

Oh look, here comes the Constitution again...Fixed it! If there are any examples of schools or people or groups or states or counties violating the Constitution, then I'm not going to lower myself to argue with you, because there's no argument.

America's death is slowly happening by inches instead of miles, little by little the Christian majority is attacking the very foundations of our nation and replacing it with versions of their own in hope that one day that Christians would rule United States. I find it insulting and downright treason.

No doubt, trolls are indeed International, and some gutless idiot will surely make a comment and run. Such is the nature of fools.

I never understood why people don't understand the Separation of Church and State, Freedom For Religion or Freedom from Religion, or No Religious Test Required to Hold Office stands for. Founding fathers clearly understood the dangers of organized religion controlling an nation. There are many christian individuals who are calling out for America to be taken over by Religion and Democracy replaced with Theocracy, it is so infuriating for me. I have nothing against Christians who worship in private or worship in the church, I do have problem with Church Pastors trying to use the people to take over the nation so they have power over everyone else that doesn't follow their strict bible codes that they abide and live by.

Go back to the previous page and explain all those religious laws still in place, which even the public attempt to enforce.

It is a relgion problem, and as I said, the US having the most people is going to see the worst of it - that is just statistics Yam, not a personal attack although you do not seem to be able to see it.

When China comes here, economies will boost, we look to the future, we do not live in the past like you Yam. War is not necessary, business negotiations are. The only war I will be fighting will be if our Government gives in to the free trade agreement, which is just wrong and cannot go ahead. I will go see politicians about it though Yam, I will actually do something. You should try that sometime.
