It does indeed seem that my predecessors here lived in the past.  Too much "retro" going on around here when the euro & credit crunching affects our daily life's.  Perhaps its time for the G&D to offer a service to joe public (or bods - if that is how my previous inklings referenced you who frequent here?) The UK has a charitable service often called a Food Bank.  So what about a beer bank for those long term veterans of slurpyness, who struggle to make their daily ends meet?  We could then train Pugs to go out on their rounds searching for weary scholars of the drink who are struggling to make it to my doors?  An humble Pug with a small back pack filled with the strong stuff maybe?

Or am I going through a mid-life crisis - or - mental breakdown?

In other news, Boris "the Blade" has agreed a long term deal with me to serve pies, bangers and chips from his caravan, parked on my grounds.  The extra large car park may also prove useful for a swimming pool for my regulars...

2018 has big plans for the George & Dragon :)

I'm not trying to be awkward(oh, okay, I am) (large sherry when you have a moment. Thanks), but that massive 10" deep puddle in the car park cannot, by anyone's estimation, be mistaken for a 'swimming pool'!

To quote an old adage - The greatest Oaks have been little acorns.

One large sherry madam.  How about some pickled onion crisps too?

(Comes in partly wet) So I am not entirely happy with your swimming pool in the parking lot. The dang thing is only 10 inches deep.  Can I get a glen livet?

(thinks I may have messed up a game here...)

Perhaps a Glen Livid would be more apt!

Things can't be that rough if you've still got enough cash to buy a PINT of gin!

He charges more for the ice than for the gin.

How gossip quickly spreads around this little village of Weevelton.  Now, now then I AM PLANNING TO INSTALL ONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE!!!  You locals may find a puddle of dirty rain water a real boon when one wishes to dip their toe etc.  But where I come from such gatherings of rain are best avoided or over stepped.

And you`ll have a turbo shandy or nowt!

A pint of Best and a slice of humble pie please gaffer. Keep the change.

Hmmm, I hope you've had a bath?  Marvin with the nose told me that they're over-run with fox fleas at the moment.

One pint and...erm it`ll have to be sausage and bean pie.  Um, the menu says it comes with chips and gravy.  *cough* That`ll be £15 an 12 shillings John.
