That doesn't make people safe, either. The only way you might be safe is if you strand yourself alone on a desert island...and even then you could be hit by a tidal wave or eaten by a shark while you try to catch your dinner. 

No one is ever really safe. As long as we're living, we're in danger of dying.

That said, I wish people would just quit killing each other.
