On the contrary.  When given the opportunity to vote on the issue, those who chose to take up that oppoprtunity voted by a majority to leave the EU

That is the fact.

Of course, if you wish to argue that almost no government or even MP in history has ever had a popular mandate to exist, thats up to you.   But you do realise how pathetic and childish such arguments make you look?

Then again, I bet you support one of them gangs.   Never did grow up, eh?   Need someone else to tell you what to think?   Hate freewill unless it means everyone agrees with your gang leader?   Eh ;)

I have said from the first that leaving was a bad move in all respects- especially for the working (or non-working) class.

Unfortunately, we will all have to bear the brunt of the referendum decision. Even those like me, who were too complacent to vote.

Okay, so I'm getting confused, what with all this 'Fake News' going around. The Indi (and Ali) said that the economy would collapse and we'd all be £x worse off.

Yet today the same Indi is saying the Economy is growing. Now is the economy collapsing and their lying? Or is the economy growing and they've been lying. Either way, the Indi is publishing lies.

The squirming from the quislings will start, The SNP stated before the Bill was published they are going to make 50 amendments to the bill. quite where they are going to make 50 amendments from two paragraphs is beyond me. This move by Theresa May as put MP's in a position whereby they have to nail their colours to the mast for all to see - Its going to be interesting. we'll see who we have in our midst.

  •

The proprietor of the Daily Mail told its editor that David Cameron pressed for him to be sacked during the EU referendum, BBC Newsnight has learned.

Lord Rothermere told Paul Dacre the prime minister urged him to rein in his pro-Brexit editor, then suggested he sack him, a source told the BBC.

I know my MP is pro Brexit --- but those MPs whose  majority of constituents voted to Leave --- but they are
intending to oppose the triggering of Article 50 (or try to water it down with amendments) --

they could find themselves under pressure or even demands that they step down as the MP..

not sure how it would work but could they be ousted with a vote of 'no confidence' or something like that..?

EU will lose out from bad Brexit deal on City, says leaked report

The European commission’s Brexit negotiators must strike a “workable” deal with Theresa May’s government to protect the City of London or the economies of the remaining member states will be damaged, a leaked EU report warns.

The document – which has been seen by the Guardian – describes it as critical for the economic health of the remaining member states that the current financial eco-system is not hit in the coming Brexit negotiations.

The paper, drawn up by officials working for the European parliament’s powerful committee on economic and monetary affairs (Econ), warns that UK-based financial services account for 40% of Europe’s assets under management and 60% of its capital markets business. “And UK-based banks provide more than £1.1tn of loans to the other EU member states,” the Econ secretariat’s paper notes.

The MP's who go against the parties three line whip are expelled or suspended by the party, that MP then becomes an independent MP. but they don't lose their seat. depending on how critical the three line whip vote was and how serious the MP's defiance was that MP might be expelled from the party for good or welcomed back after a sort of suspension - but if expelled at the next local or general election that MP will be a independent candidate.

Any MP who defies a party three line whip is effectively ending their political career in the sense of being on the front bench or future minister. usually the people who defy the three line whips are people who lack the credibility and ability of progressing beyond a constituent MP, or MP's with a grievance against their leader. like we see with the Labour Party - often you see the headline Labour Shadow minister resigns over whip vote and when you see their name you have to ask who are they?

In the European Bill vote tonight at 7pm. it looks like 60 to 80 MP's will vote against the Bill. But 326 MP's are needed to stop the Bill. Faced with that, the Bill should be passed with around about 570 for, 80 against. IF passed it has to go to the Lords and then come back for amendments, Some of the Remain MP's will use this session of amendments to slow down proceedings, that's why the Governments or Theresa Mays' EU Bill is so short  just two paragraphs, it prevents numerous challenges and amendments being proposed. - If you remember a good example of this was the SNP who stated they would make 50 amendments to the Bill, a random 50 amendments plucked out of the air and they stated this before they even knew the wording of the Bill. - it shows how second rate the SNP are as a party. as shown time and time again in their domestic policies.

What we have to remember any tariffs on goods or services placed on the UK disproportionately affects the EU. They know it and we know it. Its a shame the British media don't highlight it enough. the facts remain, over 90% of the British economy is here within the UK. just 11% of British businesses export less than a third to the EU. Our domestic economy is the bread and butter, trade is just the jam.

I want to raise another point the EU have said the UK needs to pay them €60 Billion euros to cover on going commitments to the EU after we leave - between the years 2017 to 2020. - The question i have, if that figure is correct as the EU is saying. that's roughly £20 billion pounds extra a year we have not been told about. Now if we are to be paying that amount in 2017-2020 then surely we must at present be paying that amount and in past years - have the EU inadvertently let the cat out the bag? and showed the true cost of UK membership, not £10Billion net as we are told but potentially a figure of £30 Billion a year. Our £10 billion net membership plus liabilities and commitments of a further £20 Billion. = £30 Billion a year? It'll be interesting and well worth keeping our eye on in the up coming negotiations.

The SNP - a party that believes the UK should stay in the EU because it the UK "does so much trade with the EU" yet wants Scotland to leave the UK even though two thirds of Scotland's trade is with the rest of the UK. The UK is a far more important union for Scotland on that score than the EU is.

Yep. Gina Miller's attempt to overturn the result turned out to be a damp squib.

Guardian, Indecent and HuffPost will either mention it in a small story somewhere down the bottom of the page or lead with some big headline saying something sarcastic about Farage and mention the actual result in small font down the bottom of the page, of course.

But it is only the working class who will suffer, not the upper class, or middle class, although obviously we would like to remain in Europe.
