Dude you're not even going to get the republicans to agree to that let alone both parties. The feds having a biometric database of every citizen in the US? Hell to the no on that.

Networked computers within a state.  The individual who has presumably registered to vote, casts their ballot by pressing a thumbprint on a sensor.  No need for any storage of the id's of the voters, simply have the system INVALIDATE BOTH VOTES if the same print is used again in the same election.  Require digital photo ID for registration.  The ONLY reason for refusing this step is so cheating can continue.

You dont think they'll be able to correlate the thumbprints to the vote cast and then store them?

we got plenty of prisons to supply cheap labor, why pay any company, other than for materials.

and if officials throw possibility of early release, watch prisoners fight for privilege to work on the wall,  as downside, it prbly will create another side business in prisons, pay to be selected

Gee... slave labor for profit?

Maybe we can dress them up in black & white striped PJs and teach them to sing the Horst Wessel song on the way to the chain-gang?

Employ American workers to do American jobs...stimulate the economy with actual jobs - not just Government census "jobs"

but this is not those kind of job, it is gvmnt project that is paid for by our taxes, the cheaper we can do it the better for us.

we need to create environment that will create jobs in private sector. manufacturing\service......., that will give incentives to open up businesses, and hire people

Right, but the only water your comment your Prison Workers holds is in regard to keeping costs down, and I think it is the wrong way.

When the Shrub wanted to build a fence, it was 700 million and most of that money went away with only a small part of the fence built. Then we heard 1.5 billion, and now it is 15 Billion?

Government contractors are crooks, lets put the Army Corps of Engineers on it. Either that, or have local construction outfits take the jobs in very localized areas.

so what does not hold water? that we need to create businesses  friendly enviroment ?

yea, it was only a fence for 1.5B, not a wall.

yea, i'm sure good part of that money disappeared in pockets. so  the less people\companies involved the less will disappear.

So now use slave labor to build a wall to guard against invasion.

I can think of just the organisation that would be able to help with that!

HELL yeah!

Nobody can even tell us how MANY Federal laws there are, not even a round number. Trumps best idea so far was that for a Regulatory agency (such as the EPA, the Employment Prevention Agency) to make a new regulation (newspeak for Law), they first have to remove two.

prison labor is not slave labor, not even close, they actually even get paid for that, and they have been working in prisons since ever.

Yes, we know, but there is a difference between giving them a productive outlet... and making them the driving force behind a national project.

Sets a very bad precident, don't you think?

i do not think so. i see no reason why minimum security prisoners can not do it.

if we can hire cops who are suffering from ptsd, and 100% unfit for the work, i see no reason low sec. prisoners can not build a wall.

but i'm not saying this is how it should be done, it is one of the possible solutions.

I'm sure it'd be very popular, they'd queue up to get a nice bit of sun and fresh air I'm sure.

i imagine it would.  it also would keep them away from prison gangs, and things that going on there. less chances to get assaulted, or get into a fight,  and have extra time added.

It was founded by immigrants who came in ran roughshod over the people already there and messed just about everything up :P

we did that here too, with an added bonus of "teach the black out of them" racism.

I think even the Finger Ink system would be better. Make the voter color the end of one finger. The color wears off after a couple days, but till then they can't vote again. Only people who put their finger in the dye get to vote.

People will say that a "digital" fingerprint system will be subject to "hacking", or otherwise subject to fraud. Imagine if a person registers their parent using their own fingerprint? Now that person can vote under two names, even if their parent dies. "Don't let that happen", might sound good, but really, think about it... How hard is it to defraud the government, or to find someone sympathetic who'll break law to allow for what that one person thinks is "justice"?

That's no different than those that were already here that rode roughshod over others that were already here.  No different that the Anglo-Saxons that ran roughshod over the Britons who were then roughshod by the Normans.  This is the story of civilization across the planet.  What's important is who is doing the roughshod and who is being roughshod?

You're right, it's no different, history proves itsppens time and again BUT it's bad now because it's happening to you.
