I have to agree with this women, this march has nothing to do with women's rights but more to do with bashing Trump.

Nothing so far has much to do with any actual grievances.  It's all about just bashing Trump and getting the attention for doing it.

I must applaud the Australians that did this.  Wish someone could have done this here.

It doesn't matter how many cheer and how many protest.  If that is all we do nothing will change.  I am all in to make things better for my family.  If that helps you too, so much the better.

Its not the standard network you and I use, its the satellite phone network (Irdium). Some years ago I had to call a scientist who was down there. The call was 10 minutes or so and the bill for it was at 95$.

Is this the first time anything has ever been peacefully protested, or protested period, on all seven continents?

If so then quite historical and a shining moment when it comes to the unity of our planet.

Good things always come out of the bad.

I think its Soros and people like him that have the throw away cash to finance this stuff and want Trump to fail.  They want him to fail no matter what kind of damage it causes to this country.  How patriotic of them.

I read that there were marches in around sixty countries around the world. Even though they may be highlighting a range of issues, they're obviously targetting Trump as their villain of choice, largely based on innappropriate comments from past media rather than any indication that his policies will affect their fundamental rights with regards to gender, etc.

Where are these mass protests around the globe when it comes to countries such as Saudi Arabia, where women aren't allowed to drive, swim in public pools, and have to seek permission of a male relative to do pretty much anything under the guardianship system? You have to wonder how many of those protesting yesterday even know about these issues, as they aren't trending on their favourite social media sites.

Apparently they have marched in Saudi Arabia LV. The women took to the streets in 75 countries.

Activists will march in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, South Korea, Colombia, Iceland and elsewhere. There are well over 2 million people predicted to participate.

I'm sorry, Astra. I was asking that question to them, not to you. I apologize if you thought that was aimed at you. I just meant that they don't seem to care about the carnage and death in real wars, especially when one of their own is in the White House.

No worries...all's good Para :)

I'd dart them like a rhino and give them an orange jumpsuit, a broom, and a pail to clean up the mess.  If they refused to work, I'd put them in isolation.

I would cut off the head of the snake, so to speak. I would freeze the bank account of George Soros, so that he wouldn't be able to finance these groups. It turns out that he sponsored a few groups at the women's marches and protests over the weekend. My guess is that he wants to remove the Trump movement as quickly as he can.

I had a question regarding the inauguration, has there been any proof posted to show Donald is reptilian?

So l looked around and caught mid transformation:

You're right. Hillary was the bad candidate that led to a good course correction.

Soros has that as they say "crazy look in his eye".

Needs a skin transplant or something or maybe just a hulk Hogan drop kick to the face and pile driver. Dude looks sick and not a cup of Campbell's soup sick.

Who gets his cash when he croaks?

I don't know, but his son is poised to take his place. Destructive involvement, in sovereign states, must run in the family.

Hopefully he'll put it to good and not follow those shoes.

I guess the greatest sorrow would be sitting in your grave and your son doing the 180 and knowing he thought you were a pos the whole time.

It's too late for that. Evidently, Junior is a chip off the old evil interventionism block.

What placards will they be holding up though? I'd imagine they won't be holding up placards concerning women's rights, gay rights or even the basic human rights they are denied in Saudi. They'll be waving banners against the newly elected leader of a country thousands of miles from their own, based on his anti-muslim rhetoric - something their misogynistic leaders will no doubt allow them to do, as it aligns with their own values.

I doubt they'll be allowing them to protest against the shocking scenes of teenage girls and young pregnant women being stoned to death in public - these things are real and happening now. I'd say google the videos, as they are there to be seen, but they are just too harrowing to watch.

Okay, fair enough, I can understand that Saudi women may be making their voices heard in any way they can, but Trump is a soft target. They have more pressing concerns of their own. It almost seems like shouting about smoke coming from a house down the street, while your own home is on fire.

I'd just like to see some sense of proportion between the exaggerated concerns of those living free and largely fair lives in Western democracies, against a man who hasn't really been tested yet, compared to some of the genuinely evil men controlling other parts of the world.

This isn't specifically directed to you by the way Astra. I think we're just having a conversation within a conversation B)

Thanks LV. And I understand where you are coming from...but IMHO...I really can't see what the big deal is if these women are marching, and having a voice, for the good of all woman everywhere.

This isn't only about Trump....they are simply spreading a message concerning woman's values and rights.

If anything I think it's great that they are trying to spread their message in places like Saudi Arabia and other oppressive countries..where woman are treated like second class citizens. It may never truly change things...but who knows...at least they are trying...as small steps are better than none.

When your borders are protected by an ocean, it's sometimes hard to understand the situation of protecting borders of a continental country. Just think what it would be like if those pesky Australasians could just walk to Australia. You'd probably build a wall, too.

I see your point yet I somehow find your logical concerns being twisted by nationalism. Immigration is the bedrock that your nation is built on but for some inexplicable reason you'all decided that being insular within your walls and tariffs are preferable to what made your nation great. It's confusing and worrying to an outsider like me.
