Children are off limits. His father, fine he can handle his own. To make fun of a child? wtf is wrong with you and to think this ***hat is a comedy writer for snl.

I think that's one thing we should all be able to agree on. Whatever you think of Trump or any other politician, it's not like the kids chose their parents. When there are so many genuine issues to discuss, who goes for insulting kids?

Comedians and clowns should not be held to the same standards as the press.

I would post an image of the many funny faces of Trump each next to the Annoying Orange since it is humorous in a more light-hearted manner but....Google it if you want to see it.

Different standards certainly. Comedians can make jokes about speculation or personal features but going after anyone who can't respond is just no ok.

Joke about Trump all you like. God knows there's plenty of ammunition there. But you shouldn't bring kids into it.

Are you saying that you are fine with comedians making fun of a 10 year old child?

If mean spirited it is one thing to make fun of children but they seemed purely done for as a source of humor.

People need to learn to differentiate and learn how to take a joke. Those about Sir Barron were not done out of spite but for the lolz.

I understand when things are tense sometimes it is best to be able to laugh,  not in a mean way but so that it takes away tension. Those hating on Trump will have a good giggle and will end up hating less.

The office of sacred clown is universal.

I'm just going to ask this outright - what has that child done to deserve to be the butt of a joke? Your answer shouldn't mention anyone except him.

One or two final thoughts. If you don't want your kids to be the subject of coverage by the paparazzi for example then don't parade around and others will respect their privacy.

Likewise if you wish to avoid them being included in satire then don't bring then center stage but keep them to the side.

Parents are in charge of protecting their children. Not using them props. Did anyone hate on Angelina's kid farm?

The comedian did not want to spread hate but some have a mentality if being under siege they instantly see hate and hate themselves. The epitome of political correctness.

Sounds eerily like those who say stuff like - If you don't want to be raped, don't dress provocatively.

It's a 10 year old kid dude.

I don't remember any presidents little child getting attacked by media figures.

It's low and disgusting.

Chelsea clinton a former first daughter was one of the people who posted a complaint about the skit.

That might be relevant if the comedian said something about the childs hair.   Although i think that would be in bad taste too.

Is it not bullying to make fun of a 10 year old on social media sites?

I agree, the progressives seem to be going scorched earth and guerilla moreso than conventional anymore so tactics will have to adapt...

Hopefully Trump does such a homerun job it makes all this idiocy bite them in the ass!Trump had about 3 mil less votes but broke through the "blue wall" and to keep that important part of voters open going forward he has to succeed.

SNL is a barren wasteland of talent anymore,it's amazing it hasn't been cancelled...Hell from the late 70's - late 90's it was a future hollywood star farm, the only 2 i know by name since the 2000's is Farrel and Fallon...

Agreed, as for the bolded I always respond that she won a race Trump wasn't running in.  Maybe if the old criminal would've visited more of those flyover states she would've won the race they were actually running.

Mad respect for Chelsea but she might be sensitive to this so is not truly partial.

I can also see that one good thing about this is how both sides condemned the comedian so yay for unity.

Conversely when we kill comedy it does not bode well.

As far as your memory, here is a refresher. It runs the gamut from fun jokes to spite (which I don't condone against children but no one cries for Lil BooBoo and I have read horrible commentary here against her) Cheers.

Quote

The darker side of being a White House child seems to have begun in the 1970s, during the early days of “Saturday Night Live,” which mocked Amy Carter, then 9,in a skit. According to the book “White House Kids,” Ms. Carter was portrayed as spoiled beyond all reason, complaining to her father, “It’s always United States first and Amy second!”

During her father’s campaign, Ms. Clinton was also satirized on the show, and at 12, while she was living in the White House, her looks were mocked by the conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh.

The Bush twins, Jenna and Barbara, were 19 when George W. Bush was elected, but they too inspired late-night comedy for some of their behavior in college. And in 2014, Elizabeth Lauten, a spokeswoman for a Tennessee congressman, apologized and resigned after criticizing Malia and Sasha Obama on Facebook.

Not if the bully is a progressive liberal with an agenda, and the victim is a family member of a Republican.  It's called satire then.   Hypocrites.

What is funny about saying that a 10 year old child will be a school shooter?

I really don't understand how you think saying stuff about a child is fair game.

Nothing is funny about that. I agree.

Now homeschool shooter. Comedy gold.

Look up Disaster Girl for an off-slight comparison.

I agree - I hate his orangeness too. Trumps over-use of the tanning booth is pretty obvious.

Fair enough..and I can't stand Trump either....but under the circumstance...anyone (media or otherwise) that pokes fun at a 10 year child is lower than low in my book.

I can't think of anything any lower than attacking the children of elected officials. It's not at all "funny" and it's not acceptable behavior for anyone to engage in.
