Adults need to act like adults instead of snowflakes lashing out at anyone with lies including a child just to hurt Trump. Sounds like you are saying he should keep Barron locked away in a closet somewhere.

School shooter or rapist...it's disgusting. Nothing compared to saying Amy carter was a brat.....and I was clear back then that she should be off limits. They said Chelsea Clinton was ugly...again nothing compared to them saying the Bush twins deserved to be raped and worse. The levels are always different. BUT that being said, they should ALL be off limits as I believe celebrities children should also be left alone.

To call a kid the next school shooter is a no-go in general but to think a presidents kid deserves a higher level of protection is a no-go as well as the level of protection should be the highest possible, regardless of race, social position or whatever.

simplybill Posted January 24, 2017 #807 Share Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) It is surprising that Katie Rich has somehow missed the stories of children and teens who've committed suicide due to online harassment. An adult should have some understanding of the vulnerability of children. Having said that, I will say this in her defense: Ms. Rich appears to be in her thirties. It was during her youth that SNL began to replace comedy with mockery, which are two very different things. The original SNL writers and cast drew laughs by making fun of themselves, which endeared many of us older folks to John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, Dan Ackroyd. I'll always remember John Belushi as a Samurai or a Killer Bee. It's understandable that Ms. Rich would grow up believing that mockery is legitimate comedy, when in reality mockery is meant to be an insult. It's not just SNL. Mockery has been legitimized by SNL and Rush Limbaugh and Rachel Maddow and Facebook, and society in general. I was happy to read that Ms. Rich was suspended rather than fired. The penalty is appropriate. She definitely has comedy-writing skills that should be given a chance to develop, and hopefully she will learn the difference between mockery and true comedy. Very true but tellingly they NEVER go after a democrats family or kids and rarely the democrat himself or herself. Look at the lying shill Elizabeth warren who made her way through law school pretending to be an American Indian. If she'd been a republican her SNL character would be a weekly regular.

I don't know. What you say is true about mockery, but that isn't a good excuse. I'd like to have seen her fired. Both for what she said about a 10 year old child and for the horrible writing on SNL.
Popular Post glorybebe Posted January 24, 2017 Popular Post #810 Share Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) I am not a US citizen, so my opinion isn't based on being there, just looking in from outside. Personally, I don't like Trump, I never have. I watched one episode of his show and shook my head at what a moron he was. But, then, he had Hilary running against him. And I can't stand her either. I really felt for the American citizens and the choices they had to make on who to vote for. It seemed damned if you do, damned if you don't. That being said, the election was completed. The votes are in and Trump won. He hasn't been given a chance. It seems there are a lot of spoiled children stomping their feet right now. And to attack his son is so over the top wrong I don't even know where to start. If he does show himself incompetent, then impeach him. He could end up doing great things for the American citizens and if he doesn't there is a recourse. I agree with this post, but must add i have seen several of our non American posters here say that they had a heavy dislike for Trump from watching his show... Honestly the only "reality based" personality i can think of who doesn't tick me off at the mere thought of their face is Steve Austin of "Broken Skull Challenge" which is more of a competition than "show"... To be fair i think many already had a slanted opinion of the man before he ever announced a single policy and then with the constant negatives constantly being launched about him,he's had far more than a uphill battle in the eyes of the public. Reality shows are scripted,i have no doubts Donald can be a shrewed ass hole but the cameras on the apprentice never show how he is with his family and friends behind the scenes...

He could, and I certainly hope he does. But as you said, give him a chance. That means give Trump a chance to succeed spectacularly, or fail miserably. Not one single person on this planet knows what he's going to do aside from Trump himself, and no one knows the results of those actions until they happen.

Well, for me personally, I have to weigh this situation against Bill Clinton's response to SNL when they mocked his daughter Chelsea. Mr. Clinton made a phone call to the producers and made it clear that his daughter was off-limits. To my knowledge, no one was fired, but I think everyone involved with SNL clearly got the message. In the situation with Barron Trump, it's being reported that the producers took immediate action to suspend Ms. Rich, presumably without waiting for a response from President Trump. I found that admirable. The whole situation is interesting to me because of the response from Pres. Trump: there was none. It's possible Ms. Rich was deviously plotting to elicit a crude response from the President on Twitter (the reaction to the action is the action). If so, the plot failed because Mr. Trump remains silent. I'm wondering why he didn't respond. I'm hoping it's because someone in his close circle of political friends gave him some wise counsel, and convinced him to let it play out in the public sphere. As it turns out, it was good advice (if indeed that's what happened) because people from all sides came to his defense in a show of support for Barron. It'll be interesting to watch how the President and the Media continue to interact over the next four years. So far, he appears to be making them play his game instead of theirs. This is a small, vocal minority that is in no way representative of the American people and most of us are sick of these petulant children as well. The only thing they are doing is convincing people that this new Democrat party is not their parents democrat party and they'll want nothing more to do with it.
Sir Wearer of Hats Posted January 25, 2017 #819 Share Posted January 25, 2017 The boy is 10. Do you know what 10 tear olds are like? I teach them. Theyre media aware but not media savvy. Theyre also literal beings when it comes themselves. They will take ANY comment as criticism unless its outright flattering. They will get twisted around that criticism. These "jokes" and "satire" wont be interpeted as a joke or satire but as an attack. The people making them are literally destroying the boys self image.

Kelly Anne Conway now has a Secret Service detail because her kids have been threatened and packages with white powder have been sent to her house. The leftists cheer. This isn't politics for them, it is a religion and they are violent zealots who believe they have the moral authority to attack others and destroy them personally and professionally and now, more and more cases, physically and their families are acceptable targets.

Lol. The "real" picture is showing the same thing as the overview picture just at a different angle. You can clearly see the spaces left, they just look smaller due to the angle of the shot. But go ahead with your alternative facts, you're not fooling anyone but yourself and those blinded by their ideology.
