Ghost car

In the fall of 1978 I was 4 years old and we lived in a second story apartment in Chicago. I remember I used to sit by the front window and watch the goings on in the neighborhood. One evening, sitting at the window, I saw a car that totally didn't belong on our street. It was a 1920's model vehicle, and it was moving very fast. I called my mom to come see the neat car, but she was busy.

Well, I have heard many ghost car stories so what you claim is not unprecedented. It must have really registered with you if you are still actively talking about it and putting it out here. I believe there is indeed something real about these ghost cars and ghost other things that science doesn't understand.

Unfortunately, your Unexplained Mystery has no certain explanation. One possibility is a residual haunting. In this idea, events from the past have been imprinted on the environment like on a vinyl record and them get played back.

Perhaps it wasn't a haunting at all, just a real cool old car speeding?

Changing gear and poor engine timing could of caused a backfire resulting in flames?

Maybe it was some ones hot rod project and if they did hit parked cars maybe a bit of fuel ignited, you do, by your own account, have a "rich" imagination.

Problem with flames and a child's imagination is much like to men fishing and the tales they tell of the whoppers they caught.

Interesting story. A bit unusual for the car haunt- usually those are just driving sightings or chase stories. It's rather uncommon for it to be a full blown accident with flames kind of thing. It's more common for auto accident haunts to be audio rather than visual.

4 years old , I think those three words sum the story up perfectly.
