What would you say if a Democratic spokeswoman did that? I think that it was an honest mistake because she knows how easy it is to check its veracity, but I also think that her mention of "alternative facts" was stupid.

If it was someone with the same track record of complaining about misinformation while spreading her own, I imagine I'd laugh just as hard.

If there's one thing I really don't get about American politics, it's this 'with us or against us' attitude. I don't discriminate, I'll laugh at everyone equally if they give me a good reason to :D

But when someone uses the phrase "alternative facts" and repeatedly describes a terror threat as a "massacre" it does seem to become a bit Orwellian.

Petty and spiteful? Hardly. She is the first to rage about misinformation, yet doesn't hesitate to dish it out herself. Bowling Green was hardly a slip up. The first time maybe. The second and third time, I don't think so.

Here's the thing, and I'm actually posing this as a question, that might defend her, but a question to this nevertheless. Now, the first time, or let's say at this particular interview, even if it took when the interview aired, why didn't she realize her mistake and made a public retraction? Why didn't she realize she mistaken said something else and then said what she really meant? I would think it wouldn't take long to realize she said the wrong word. Then again, that could be me. *shrugs*

I was going to put in, 'oh yeah, I'm proud and love to defend Andrew Weiner'

I have found that with reporting and publishing info, it should be taken seriously in how you report 'the truth'. I find this especially true, because of what could be incited with it.

Now, yes, we are all human, and I'm just wondering how her actually saying terrorists in the sentence she said, and how that would make the sentence sound sensible. I'm thinking, ok. maaaaaybe. I was hoping to find an original transcript or a full video of the interview and see how it all fits in.

As a talking head you're never going to know the 'proper' answer to every question. That's why they get briefings, or 'cheat sheets' with talking points designed to divert. She simply mis-remembered  her lines and kept it on 'repeat' until it caught up (a lie will be half way around the world before the truth wakes up.

Nothing malicious, I believe. She's just a lousy actor.

Thank you for answering my question and the in look in the behind the scenes. I would imagine within news reporting, it's a lot of hurried and get it on the air quickly thing. And this is where I feel the huge amount of various news reporting sites, channels, and such, more and more are going to be having a problems in what they say very fast on the air.

I frankly have trouble looking at KellyAnne when she's on and discussing. It could be the fact of the creation of the term 'alternative facts'. I just cringe inside of using such an idea in the media.

Wait! Is 'alternative facts' close to the definition of 'truthiness'?

It's more like 'newspeak', though I do love the reference.

To your original points yes, modern media is now a cut-throat, knee-jerk, break-neck business. Everyone wants to be 'first', accuracy be damned.

'Truthiness' does help though.

Donald Trump’s adviser Kellyanne Conway was criticized on social media for referring to Bowling Green as a massacre. The men in question aimed to harm American soldiers overseas. Trump critics quickly leapt to criticize Conway, although the Bowling Green case was certainly very serious. That didn’t stop Twitter from laughing:

http://heavy.com/news/2017/02/bowling-green-massacre-plot-iraqi-refugees-kellyanne-conway-trump-video-waad-ramadan-alwan-terrorists-terrorism-kentucky-al-qaeda-iraq-mohanad-shareef-hammadi/

So, she should had said plot instead of massacre, why are they laughing and mocking her about that?

I'm not sure how one could genuinely confuse an intent to do harm with a "massacre."

But I can almost hear Kellyanne talking back at me: "If they had got what they wanted, it's a massacre."

An update from the Washington Post article I posted earlier:

Update: Relatedly, CNN's “State of the Union” now says it declined Conway as a guest for Sunday's show. It didn't say why, but the New York Times' Jim Rutenberg says CNN told him it had “serious questions about her credibility,” and some media watchdogs have been calling on cable news to stop booking Conway for that same reason.

Conway had said she was not available for the Sunday show, but CNN disputes that.

. @KellyannePolls was offered to SOTU on Sunday by the White House. We passed. Those are the facts.

The Washington Post and CNN are an integral part of the orchestrated Mind Control Media.... (IMO)

And are obviously working overtime to try and Character Assassinate Conway and Trump ---
it's a disgrace - and a shame that the twisting and s*** stirring show no signs of slowing down --

weren't they responsible for 'massacring' US soldiers in Iraq with IEDs...?

Of course they could never compete with all the deaths (massacres) of Iraqi and Libyan civilians that the Obama Administration
and Bush Administration are responsible for - but they couldn't be allowed to carry on their terrorist work on US soil...

again when are you going to accept the democratic result of the election and show your fellow Americans

I don't have time to have another look at the details about the Bowling Green terrorists as I'm going out -
but from memory I think they helped kill US soldiers in Iraq as well --- and there was evidence found on the remnants of
an IED that was kept in that warehouse -- if they weren't prosecuted for that there was probably a reason maybe to
help protect undercover agents --- ?

Waters continued, “And the fact that he is wrapping his arms around Putin while Putin is continuing to advance into Korea.”

 This idiot is pushing for impeachment but im doubting she could spell it at this point. That whole presser was a mess!

SECRETARY TILLERSON: Well, good morning, all. We apologize for being late. It seemed that this year’s prayer breakfast, people felt the need to pray a little longer.

When I wake up each morning, the very first thing I ask myself is: Are all of our people safe? The safety of every single member of our State Department family, regardless of where he or she is posted, is not just a priority for me. It’s a core value, and it will become a core value of this department. (Applause.) This means the State Department family here in the U.S. and all those agencies serving under chief of missions abroad, including Civil Service; Foreign Service officers and specialists; locally engaged staff of host country and third-country nationals; interns, fellows, support contractors and implementing partners; and not least of all, the family members who support us at home and in our service to our country overseas.

I feel safe that President Trump is President now , but I think that the republicans in hiding who are  traitors are our biggest cleaning sweep yet still to come.

Yeah they did, you know how they did that right?  fingerprints were found on IED's that belong to them in Iraq but somehow they still made it across and through our vetting system? into the U.S.A ?

ETA

So what  they did was watched & waited for our people(U.S soldiers) to drive near to where they planted their IED's in the ground, so they can dial on their phone the IED and that's what they did and do still and they  get into our country through our vetting system.

What exactly have Kellyanne's 'alternative facts' to do with accepting the results of the election? Oh wait, I see. It's just one of your fallback responses, much the same way your mind perception soup is. Just unsubstantiated assumptions and accusations when the facts are nowhere near your grasp.

Here's information on those two Iraqi nationals: FBI Archives

Conway used their arrests to explain why Trump's temporary travel ban was necessary to keep Americans safe. Neither of the two Iraqis were charged with plotting attacks here. There was no massacre at Bowling Green. No deaths. No injuries. Not even a paper cut.

Army Staff Sgt. Joshua Hedetniemi couldn't believe what he was hearing: Two al Qaeda terrorists had been arrested in a small town in Kentucky, right in America's heartland.

But it wasn't the 2011 arrests that caught the combat veteran's attention, but the offhand mention in a press report of a town in Iraq called Bayji, where the terrorists had operated before slipping into the States.

"It's an extremely small town and not very well-known," Hedetniemi told ABC News. But Hedetniemi knew it all too well

...but you know Kellyanne misspoke so they'll make fun of that instead of making the world a safer place .

Exclusive: FBI Video Shows Al Qaeda in Kentucky Handling Heavy Weapons

An al Qaeda-linked terrorist, who was resettled in the U.S. as an Iraq War refugee after allegedly killing American soldiers, was caught on camera in Kentucky handling heavy weapons that the FBI said he believed would be sent to insurgents back in Iraq.

The 2010 video, obtained exclusively by ABC News, was part of a broader ABC News investigation into the flawed refugee vetting program, which officials said may have let "dozens" of terrorists into the country.

An FBI agent assigned to the sting operation that captured the video told ABC News that Alwan had bragged to an informant about killing American soldiers in Iraq. "He said he had them 'for lunch and dinner,'" FBI Louisville Supervisory Special Agent Tim Beam said.

The FBI said that beyond sending the arms back to extremists in Iraq, Alwan spoke of targeting a specific American soldier in the U.S. and possibly attacking other homeland targets.
