is that all you've got now...?

twisting my words around to fit in with your agenda ---

Don't you think it's about time you accepted the democratic result of the Presidential election -
Let those elected get on with the job instead of trying to twist everything and trash them --?

Just about anything can be twisted and made negative by those determined to do so --

I think there's a division everywhere, on a global scale.

Exclusive: US May Have Let 'Dozens' of Terrorists Into Country As Refugees

Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees, according to FBI agents investigating the remnants of roadside bombs recovered from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky -- who later admitted in court that they'd attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq -- prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists' fingerprints.

I'm thankful that Kellyanne Conway reminded people about it.

But you know, the left say there's no rational reasoning for President Trump & all of us to want to enforce our laws.

If it was someone with the same track record of complaining about misinformation while spreading her own, I imagine I'd laugh just as hard.

If there's one thing I really don't get about American politics, it's this 'with us or against us' attitude. I don't discriminate, I'll laugh at everyone equally if they give me a good reason to :D

Are you kidding me? 0bama had the local government from his home state threaten to arrest people who made "false claims" during his first campaign.

:hmm:  I don't remember that being discovered or something close to that during that election. ( but my head punching a hole in a windshield during a car accident years ago can do it's share wiping away somewhat of my short term memory, maybe. ) Though, I would be very interested in a link to read more about that.

I actually did go and see what kind of hits would come up, ( ok, I did Google. ) about that.  But in the initial first two pages, the only thing I got was snopes.com reporting Obama's 50 lies. Then I noticed that one site is a bit skeptical on the reliability of snopes.  But, for me, that is close of what I found. I mean, if you come up with a link or two, then I can see that happening.

And I am profoundly curious. You have a link or two to show that?

Not sure what that has to do with my post. Did you quote me by accident?

Of course you don't. Cause main stream gave it a pass. Folks like myself were screaming it from the roof tops, only to be told, YES WE CAN.

Snopes is literally a old cat lady who apologizes non stop for government. How the hell she ever became a author of truth is beyond me.

Uh, I don't know how you answered my question here. It looks like you're backing up my thoughts on the reliability of snopes. My question was of having a link to back up that Obama had people to quell lies being told about him during his first election. It's not that I would doubt you and others shouted it as loud as you can at the time, but that is still a subjective point of view there. I would love to see an actual source that reports that. So, I can see how it is true.

Soon President Trump will have this all fixed, the way it is suppose to be.

All fighting and Left vs. Right WWF cage match style debating aside, this is the most heart breaking part of this whole thread, because I honestly believe that *you* believe it...and goodness knows, the US needs fixing, that's not a dig, that's a statement from a neighbor who cares.

But when someone like Conway, who has a history of telling untruths, gets busted again, it's one of two things:  incompetence or an attempt to deliberately lie to the public.  Combined with the fact that this "misspeech" (?) just happened to further the anti Muslim rhetoric that they've used to divide the country in half, one can hardly fail to connect the dots, if they are looking at this objectively.  On it's own, meh, but when looked at as part of the sum of the "alternative facts" strategy she employs, you gotta ask, does she think you all are that stupid?  Or is she that stupid...?  It's a mess.  A yooge disaster.

No, it's not beyond a reasonable doubt that she could have made an honest mistake. But I think it's safe to say that by this point nothing that she says can be taken for granted as true beyond a reasonable doubt either.  And that's not the fix America needs, it's just not, because in order to fix things, you need to work on a foundation of truth.  The truth shouldn't be debatable, facts are facts, and *neither* side should defend their own when they are discovered to be either directly lying, or being irresponsible about what they call or present as facts.  Basic, basic, basic.

what's your point Clair?

My point, Ella, is pretty much straightforward. But hey, if it helps, let's fact check Kellyanne's statement. She stated:

I bet it’s brand new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre,” she said. “Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.

The facts:

  • There was no massacre at Bowing Green. The two Iraqis were indicted on federal terrorism charges for attempting to send weapons and money to Al Qaeda in Iraq with the intent of killing American soldiers there. They were not involved in any plot to kill Americans here in the US.
  • Kellyanne's assertion that Obama had instituted a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program, is not quite true either. There was no outright ban on visa applications. While the visa process was slowed down by the enhanced screening procedures, some Iraqi refugees were admitted to the United States in every month of 2011.
  • As for the story not getting covered by the media, that's not true either. Indeed, Kellyanne herself undermined her claim by linking (in a tweet) to an ABC News article from November 2013. Oops.

The following article examines Trump's claim that his refugee policy is similar to that of Obama's in 2011. You'll find it a bit hard to swallow, I'm sure. But the facts are facts.

How do you know this is true when fingerprints were found on IED's of theirs that were utilized against our soldiers in Iraq? The fact is that they should have never gotten into our country and we will not stop until our laws are enforced to keep them the hell out of our country.

I don't remember the story getting much coverage, it was always like that with Obama.

I'm not sure you even understand Trump's executive order.  Remember what he said, Ella, it is not a ban, and in no way permanent.  And it's clear, you have selective memory.  Here is an article right from Obama's DOJ.  But hey, hide it in plain site is always what they say, right?  Another alternative fact.

No Ella, it wasn't always like that with Obama. The story was extensively covered by both local and national media outlets. Furthermore, the fingerprint issue has nothing whatsoever to do with the facts I presented earlier. The IED found in Iraq with two latent fingerprints belonging to one of the two Iraqis was found based on information he provided of his time as an insurgent in Iraq. You can read more about it in the following Department of Justice release.

Ella, the truth.  THE TRUTH.  The list of underreported terrorist attacks that Trump was talking about on Friday was released yesterday.  They include:

Quote

The November 2015 Paris attacks, including at the Bataclan theater.
The December 2015 mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.
The Pulse nightclub mass shooting in Orlando, Florida.
The suicide bombings in June at an airport in Istanbul.
The July truck attack in Nice, France.

Are you kidding me??  Those were underreported?  There are still French flag profile pictures showing up on my Facebook.  Don't lecture us about the truth, when this is the information you're eating up.

You know when Obama put a ban on them, no one rioted, it's pretty clear.  But, under the Obama admin.  had still allowed people to get in that  shouldn't of gotten in our country. President Trump is just more wiser & more Patriotic as opposed to Obama so it's expected that President Trump will be more thorough in securing America's borders and keeping us safe.

Read above Ella.  There was no ban.  Changes in the vetting procedures, which I would like to file a motion that it be known as "extreme vetting" caused a backlog.  As Claire pointed out, refugees from Iraq came in every single month, just slower than usual.

No problem. I voted for a President to fix America's national security concerns.

Trump's Facebook is has linked a story with the caption from him being "SMART!" about Kuwait's "Trump-esque" travel ban.  The only problem?  The story is not real.  Denied by Kuwait, denied by the countries involved, printed by a Russian newspaper, and then retracted because it was found to be false.  Yet, we get lectured by our President about fake news.
