Here is just a few sites I dredged up that address the topic:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantis

http://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/archaeology/atlantis/

http://www.ancient-origins.net/opinion-guest-authors/atlantis-revealed-platos-cautionary-tale-was-based-real-setting-003224

http://www.livescience.com/23217-lost-city-of-atlantis.html

While it appears there was a large island between Greece and Turkey, it also seems apparent that it was destroyed by a tsunami which was, as I understand, created by a volcanic explosion or something. However there has been no evidence of glowing cities made of gold or crystals or the like.

I recall that Plato wrote a fantasy about an advanced civilization that was brought down by its own hubris or something.

As fun as fantasy can be, I value scientific research to clear up misconceptions.

According to Curt Hoffman in “Wings over Numenor: LucidDreaming in the Writing of J.R.R. Tolkien,” the dreams in the stories were modeled in many cases after Tolkien's own dream experiences.  For instance, the Middle Earth legend of Numenor, a western land that was destroyed by a vast ocean wave, apparently derives from Tolkien's personal “Atlantis Complex” and his recurrent dreams of huge, all-consuming waves.

When science doesn’t find something, there are two possibilities: The not finding of something that doesn’t exist and the case of even though something exists, it can’t be found. They are different. For instance, about past and future lives and not being able to prove them scientifically, it is just that scientists cannot find them, but that doesn’t prove that they don’t exist.

This type of skepticism while valid does not seem rooted in the scientific method at all because it offers no explanation of why people who have these experiences, or claim to have them, have them to begin with.

Until you can provide studies any type of skeptic refutations being offered are simply unscientitic. They explain nothing about the humanistic side itself.

Maybe you should not claim to be scientific when you are only offering your opinion which is valid. But it's claim to science is not.

Experiences of feeling connected to Atlantis, memory regression, and the like have nothing to do with maps especially when posted in the ET forum instead of alternative history one.

The point is that all those of claiming of "having" a past life where they lived in Atlantis is bs because not a single person was able to come to a map and said "this is where Atlantis was located" (and no I am not demanding pinpoint accuracy), not even a reasonable area was provided, but sure there is a lot of folks pointing to different locations.

And now with this ufo crystals stuff, it seems to me that tv show like stargate Atlantis was influential to this "new wave" of Atlantis descriptions.

Look. Our Past Basset Masters destroyed Atlantis on purpose. Going around digging up false information about it will only rouse their righteous and holy anger. And that only results in the Holy Smitings, where they take up the guilty in their capacious and toothy mouths and shake their heads side to side with enough force to crack bones.

Is that what you want, OP? Is it? To be smited by ancient and powerful deities as an object-lesson to others?

Simply put Atlantis was a literary device used by Plato in his dialogues.

Saying that you have lived a past life in Atlantis is just as valid as saying that you have lived a past life in Middle Earth or Westeros, or indeed any other fictional place.

In short it makes no sense.

Edit: Btw why is this topic in the UFO section ?

The articles have mentioned Dr Tucker from UVA. Tucker himself states that his research is not scientific.
