All the same, the thought of being injected with spider venom (in particular) isn't very appealing :no:

I've read of cases where snake and scorpion bites, whilst deadly in and of themselves, ended up curing a preexisting health problem. So whilst i agree, the idea is incredibly unappealing, I'm sure some of those people are grateful for the experience. Thankfully, medicines that have been derived from snake venom for conditions like heart disease and diabetes are available in pill form, which is significantly more palatable.

It's ironic though that the very same properties that make venom deadly are also what make it so valuable for medicine.
