A poem without rhyme and prose without flow

Here is another one...

Regal in posture, classic allure, dripping in petal couture.

Distinguished in red.

Debonair, in garnet hinted demure.

I, as passerby, Stop and sigh. A bewitched observateur.

Velveteen-vermilion, tufted velor,

thread reds galore

in semitones of a warm blushed-flush.

Red-hot stiletto sepals,

show off satiny silk petals

in crimson-crush.

A chenille, chartreuse-tulle,

brocades a Paris green stem,

accenting a cinnabar rose gem.

I, as passerby, Stop and Cry! (In dread)

Curved shaped thorns,

climbing jaded stalks are

obscured by clustered leaves.

I beleive my arm can weave,

past claw-like nettles even though I am

aggrieve, in the throes of trepidation.

A silver glint of a thorny tip ( an obvious hint),

a harbinger of distress, warns my careless finger

Of blood- torn flesh...

Voila! In my hand, I parole a cajoled,

Crimson red rose.

As I dress a tussled tress to impress my ear.

This flower queen is extolled.

I, as passerby, Stop and sigh. At my copyright on glamour.

Thank you Hammie J., Poe is one of my favorite authors and poets.

Wonderful allusion with "surcease."

Awww, keep em coming Hammie J., glad to read them.

I am a poetry nerd.

I write a tad, but I would have to get them out of storage.

I really enjoy the reasons behind the poem. Thanks for adding that.

And the use of certain words as opposed to others, in poetry they are picked with such care.

I liked surcease, not commonly used. I read it somewhere before-- I am thinking in Poe but could be off.

Sheri, could you give us a brief definition and example of cercease?

To a tyrannus and  a turan

Bold beginnings lead to slow continuings

Roman men fell crying yet Etruscan women wailed birthing

Count not your lords and ladies wedded by earthly things or wedding rings

There are two here that continue on the battlefields searching

For even the last drop of blood that fell smiling and singing

Let us teach you a chant so ancient without rhythm or slant

Let us show you how to die and live properly in coded cant

Rogues know the way across juridsticion and parent's fictions

Not their fault they had jobs or careers or bars and flights from fear as addictions

Let me down world for we grew into bigger planets and burning giant stars

Now we have you in our grasp and let you down world, softly and easily, every broken heart

Dedicated to Lord Hammerclaw and Lady Sherapy who can convince the conqueror and conquered alike

And universal dedication to all the world who has let us down but we will survive, neither with spite which does not suffice, with like meets like.

Thank you, I was thinking "surcease" was a technique or some other thing of significance in poetror literature...like an elipsis as quoted below.

Quote

In poetry, an ellipsis is used as a thought-pause or line break at the caesura or this is used to highlight sarcasm or make the reader think about the last points in the poem

Now I reread and, yes a beautiful use of a rare word, and definitely your inspiration is worthy of note, glad to see Sherapy guessed right.

I agree with her in that I too, "really enjoy the reasons behind the poem."

Also too much beauty in this undeserving thread of using the standard of the OP.

Nephili, Sheri, and you, Mr. Claws, do great honor posting here....I need to up my game and return to the craft of writing using editing.

It is fun to just flow but not very respectful in context to more serious and elegant works as these.

And for now I will leave with a wish wanting this prophecy to be fulfilled in me, at least these two lines...yet all you composed before does resonate deeply...

I want this ability:

Quote

Yet now I'll take surcease from sorrow.

And linger, for a while, in yesterday.

To have memories without sorrow, cleansed, and gleaned.

It is when the pain of something subcides, there is this point that I call the eye of continual emotional pain that it finally dissipates, lets go, for me, this is surcease.

Prison is not as scary as it used to be (Escape from past and future tense)

Using analogy of Plato's Cave if gentile

The shadows we see are not imaginary

Even TDC in this great lone star state

Is safer due to the four horsemen plus

Ears with eyes in the local county jail

That see all even from Srbija do Tokija

Marriage-divorce lost it's double doom

When mankind bowed to life and womb

Romance died earlier this decade yet

For a generation born from rape of

Ethnic cleansing in concentration camps

Are now fully formed with frontal lobes

Knowing why their family ignores or dies

When seeing the enemy in their progeny

And for their sake and others worldwide

Across eras and epochs I hope romance

Invented in the south of France only in

The last millenium by chanson de geste

Because one princess said I'll marry my

Own heart-tell-prince-or-princess tyvm

The king is dead but for Balkan's sake

May romance live on a bit more for them

As I look forward to the friendship with

The lady as a crone my love has grown

For chess with the lords who honor

The enemy knowing the main one is

Ourselves, a final boss in the last stage

Of this game of life as we knew it then

Now the last prison of mind and time

And for some in form of wine and swine

But the cells are now empty and those

Bells heard are saying we have true AU

The pathless path and gateless gate

Can be crossed as a group so I curtsy

And bow as you all waited until I AM free (sic)

Note: This is double-titled by the first line and last paragraph in bold.

Conciliation

I don't think I ever feel as lonely,

As when we go to bed after a fight.

In my mind I walk and pace,

I light a cigarette and ask myself

Why it was so important to be the one that's right.

I hear your breath's soft susurration

There beside me in the dark.

Moonlight through the window,

lights a face full of innocence and grace,

And I  hope all of your dreams are as happy as the half-smile on your lips.

Sleep eludes me in the darkness,

While my heart yearns for morning light.

I know you put your trust in me,

Deeply flawed 'though I may be,

And you are all difference and the only world I need.

I want to hold you in the morning, when birds sing out their hearts,

And kiss those lips and tell you that--as usual--you are the one that's right.

A giant star or cross says next to it: You are here.

All your prose and prophecy reposted here is speaking to me real time as if I need a map to help guide me in this darkest time of my life.

Psychogeographicpoetry.

Can you pass me or mistress Sheri a copy if done master Ham-in-law. Yet if another has more need send them when done.

I see big hands reaching down.

And I smile as it is darkest before the dawn and I see the pink light signalling dawn.

Lyrics sang by Bill Haley & His Comets. Requesting author's name of actual verses.

Last night I was dreaming, dreamed about the H-bomb
Well, the bomb went off and I was caught
I was the only man on the ground
There was a-thirteen women and only one man in town
Thirteen women and only one man in town
And as funny as it may be
The one and only man in town was me
Well, thirteen woman and me the only man around
I had two girls every morning
Seeing that I was well fed
And believe you me, one sweetened my tea
While another one buttered my bread
Two girls gave me my money
Two girls made me my clothes
And another sweet thing, bought me a diamond ring
About forty carats I suppose
Well, thirteen women and only one man in town
There was a-thirteen women and only one man in town
It was something I can't forget
Because I think of those thirteen women yet
Well, thirteen woman and only one man around
I had three girls dancing the mambo
Three girls balling the jack
And all of the rest really did their best
Boy, they sure were a lively pack
I thought I was in heaven
And all of these angels were mine
But I woke up and ended the dream
'Cause I had to get to work on time
Well, a-thirteen women and only one man in town
There was a-thirteen women and only one man in town
No, I can't tell you where I've been
'Cause I kind of think that someday I'll go back again
To those thirteen women and me the only man around
Well, a-thirteen women and me the only man around
Well, a-thirteen women and me the only man around

False awakening

Dream on dreamers we find no fouls

In any of your misdemeanors or felonies

Prosecutor and judge agree and left

It is just the Advocate that is with you

Write it all down friend and write it again

Begin exchange again of your personal

Ways of words and touch, eyes reset

We can search the eyes of others again

Write it all down again in another forum

Your dream diary and share your prose

Written years ago with all family again

Just copy and paste then tap on send

Write it once more because you were

Dreaming still and sleeping like bears

During the little ice ages and deluges

You feel well rested to write once more

Adieu, I do, namaste and namarie

Found one f mine--

Etude in Grass

Lush, plush, crushed, cloaked in velvet.

Abed, atop, (A quandary not)

A comforter of peat.

it wraps and caresses my naked feet.

Glistening jades, speckled blues,

lemony yellows, sun-spun matter

beckoning me to a rhythmic pitter-patter.

As each foot bonds to this grand earthly opus,

cool shivers of memory emote tingly sensations

in tune with the gentle breeze.

Epiphany in footsteps?

(I chuckle at the simplicity of this.)

In the silence of contemplation,

I bask in understanding, as the green goddess lulls me to ease.

  •

What does the green goddess concept represent?

Yourself? Or acceptance of the world as is? Or the nature in the equation where nurture is on the other side? As I ask this last for some see nature vs nurture when I begin to wonder when will they begin to tell us about nature + nurture< combine and influence each other and make us who we are, or even nature = nurture, with the notion being we do not have free will. One study shows our mind decides before we think we decided.

And being in tune with the breeze is what the type of balance I seek personally and globally. Plus knowing and trusting that the epiphany in footsteps is an aspiration of mine, that every path I took, every obstacle or aid in those paths, led to me being able to change and progress, for life is not life if we remain static, and finally to gracefully give myself away to the reverse process of aging and having a graceful death, no matter the method of exit I want to be content and at peace with all the life I lived.

Now the poem is wonderful from the title comparing the simplicity of grass being an instrument to compose something beautiful while remaining within the technical bounds of whatever endeavor is being implied.

Abed and atop remind me of the whole spectrum being here, or as the ancients claim, as above so below, and the pater noster repeats with on earth as it is in heaven. The meaning could be one of simple synthesis, or doing what we need to do on earth to make it into the proverbial heaven so many hype as an end goal.

A comforter of peat reminds me of those who make the process of death a comfortable and loving one as in Tuesday's With Morrie or those who work in hospice and have heart doing so.

The women in the crucifixion scene in the myth of Christianity, stayed at the cross until the very end, while the men who followed him were no where near, and in my mind they did not wail but offer cheerful attendance and nurturing company to one they loved so much, and more churches based on the bible should strive to have their members emulate that instead of the love christ had for us to die. In my mind many mothers and sisters, daughters and females in general have this love naturally, unless robbed of it through some processes that require no further detail here.

The next line then brings me to the idea that peat being comforted by the tree itself which will grow healthier due to it. As if peat itself is comforted knowing its own decay will allow the tree to grow, and tree most likely, if anthropomorphism will again be extended, the tree loves the peat back and will comfort it as it too becomes dead and no longer seen. Yet my eyes see both in the beauty of anyone so grounded to even have their feet caressed by where they stand, in life, and on what they stand on, the earth itself and the contributors who have given us many through the progress given to us, be it passed down by ancestors of humanity, or shared by another at our side, including the examples others often give us unknowingly, we simply do as they do, and improve.

I will end my commentary but you offer lots for me to see in such few words. But last I love how an etude becomes an opus. What we began with one instrument to practice our technique is a masterpiece of many elements, besides the composer or author, and even the band or the collaborators, as an opus without an audience or reader, or any beneficiaries at all, is no opus at all.

No need to respond to all but others should take more from life and even the posts offered here be they in the religious or political forums.

Two Hearts.

Well, it looks like it's going to be another day,

When all the sunshine has gone away

And those dark gray stormy clouds come rolling in.

Now he's begging you for another chance;

He says he was the victim of circumstance,

But you know his sad, sad stories always end the same way.

Are you tire enough to see through the clouds?

Can you hear my heart calling yours out loud?

Don't you wish there was place where we could just hide away?

Our two hearts  need a hiding place,

Where our love is always face-to-face.

When evening falls and the night bird calls,

I want you to know it is you I'm wanting, most of all.

It's a long sad road back to what has been,

Do you feel disconsolate and need a friend?

Well, you should know I love you,

But he always seems to get in the way.

No one can tell you that you shouldn't care,

And ours is a love only two can share.

We must hold on to our happiness, come what may.

Our two hearts need a hiding place,

Where our love is always face-to-face.

When evening falls and the night bird calls,

I want you to know it is you I'm wanting, most of all.

Beautiful and exquisitely written.

Than you as I needed this now.

Years or a month ago I would say it was both from the point of view of one I lost in the love. Then I see me knowing wanting the latter.

Art has many facets like a polished and cut gem.

Now I know, as I learned today more fully that it is me and myself, and no one else.

Perfect timing to read this night and see it revealed fully again in your own words.

I want face-to-face, in the clearing up mirror, to love shared for myself as, "this evening falls and the nightbird calls," it is me I want most of all.

I see you knew exactly where I am, again, thank you, and I know it will be a long hard road, but worth it.

Unsure if the long hard road "alone" is before or behind me, but life will get harder, and I need me, and others to face new difficulties.

Thanks again for what you have shared with me. It has healing power so I will copy these in a composition book of prayers to read again and contemplate when I need and see anew.

I also reheard old songs and saw the same message repeated in different ways, it is between me and me, who I need, to be fully human, halfway mark here now, and will I be more or less?

I just want to be and follow the most ancient commandment that stood alone and is equal to all the law: Know Thyself.

Quote
Rising high, in the morning and the night
Feeling low, never knowing where you'll fall
Hypnotized, nothing can make you feel this way
No way out, cause now your trapped and can't go back
Why couldn't you come to me
Knowing I'll be there for you
Is love so strong why can't you turn around
And look for me my baby
I love you

(chorus) Don't do the things you do
My fallen angel
My heart will love
Make your body turn away
So give it up baby (so give it up baby)

So look at yourself now
Can't speak true words
Only deception looks your way
Deception looks your way
And so your alone now
Turned away from friends
Look in the mirror and can't you see
So now can't you see my baby

....

Why couldn't you come to me
Knowing I'll be there for you
Is love so strong why can't you turn around
And look for me my baby
I love you

repeat chorus twice

-Fallen Angel by Coro

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Isaiah 16:10 “Make the heart of this people dull,
And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes;
Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And return and be healed.”

Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. 17 For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

The video to My Fallen Angel has two creepy parts, near the 30 and again at the 43 second mark.  A blure passes by fast and sideways.

I also like it shows training but no fight between them and others, and the main dance group works as a team, together, maybe from afar and a distance, but we are not alone, we are hear for a while with each other and likely will remain in our hearts for eons to come.

And the them is repeated here again, me and myself, the young me had him, I miss him, we shall unite and be one again.

This is a good summons for our own selves to return.

Thanks again Hammerclaw.

Quote
When we were young, we used to live so close to it
And we were scared and we were beautiful

And when I peered over the edge and seen death, if we are always the same

Oh, and I feel that nothing in life could ever be like this again

'Cause your love kept me alive and made me insane

There were moments when it seemed okay

(But I go back alone)

To this moment away, where do you stay?

(I go back alone)

There was a time when the music would play

Oh, baby, every morning there are mountains to climb

Taking all my time

Oh, when I get up, this is what I see

Welcome to reality

...

Oh, baby, every
(Give me a sign)
Oh, baby, every [2x]
(Give me a sign)

Wow, you gave me stuff to consider in my own poem. Amazing.

the green goddess who offered herself to the wonder of a child.

I wrote this for my son, it took me five minutes tops.

I would sit and delight at watching my son play, so full of life and wonder at the park, running with bare feet thru the grass and this was what it looked like to me.

Thank you for reading it and commenting. I cherish your insights.

Two Hearts.

Well, it looks like it's going to be another day,

When all the sunshine has gone away

And those dark gray stormy clouds come rolling in.

Now he's begging you for another chance;

This would make a great country song.

False awakening

Dream on dreamers we find no fouls

In any of your misdemeanors or felonies

Prosecutor and judge agree and left

It is just the Advocate that is with you

Write it all down friend and write it again

Begin exchange again of your personal

Ways of words and touch, eyes reset

We can search the eyes of others again

Write it all down again in another forum

Your dream diary and share your prose

Written years ago with all family again

Just copy and paste then tap on send

Write it once more because you were

Dreaming still and sleeping like bears

During the little ice ages and deluges

You feel well rested to write once more

Adieu, I do, namaste and namarie

Really good mum!
