Given this man's obvious threat against the President and his party "It's Time To Destroy Trump & Co."  will law enforcement now begin to take these animals seriously and start going after anti-fa and the denizens of twitter calling for the right's murder?

Not really... liberals will try to turn this around and blame GOP, which is very shrewd and immoral in my eyes. Liberals calls for the death of those they hate is really getting out of hand and I would love to see this type of rhetoric be put to bed.

Just saw an interview with Democrat  Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe. He went straight to "There are too many guns on the street"

Why must they politicize at a time like this?

Misdirection to cover the fact that this nut targeted Republicans.  Anyone stirring the rhetoric we've seen in the media should be ashamed of themselves.

What a moron. Instead of making the difference he thought he would make he only further solidified the notion that it is americas far left who are the most violent, intolerant and loopy bunch in the country.

We really need to stop the 'severed heads' and 'artistic plays' where the POTUS is killed. IMO tolerance of things like that lead some disturbed people to think killing those one disagrees with is a viable option in our society.

Good thing your opinion doesn't matter as far as censorship laws are concerned or you'd probably just outlaw dissent and be done with it.

If this guys had it in his head to kill Republicans, I don't think free speech laws had much to do with it. Blame all the Leftist propaganda equating "right wing" to Nazi. There will be a lot more fallout from that in the future

Blame it on the guy doing the shooting being a ****ing idiot who is probably mentally ill. There are plenty on both sides of the isle. People need to stop blaming opposing political parties for every ill in the world. Blame the people responsible.

I'm not blaming a political party so much as a particular mindset. The far left in this country is a mindset that is completely unhinged, irrational and self centered. The amount of vitriol and violence they have shown has been absurd over the last year or so.

What if, when we post this sort of thing more people see it. Then we accidently inspire someone to do this kind of horrid revolting act of hate.

That would be bad. This is just hypothetical at this point. But it kind of feels like accidently empowering (the wrong way) through the use of social media.

It's a fine line between condemnation and boosting someones likes and clicks in these modern times of internet worship.

I feel for his family. No one should be targeted like this. The desire to revoke another humans life is a revolting concept.

Representation means they should be pending the money as WE want, they should be representing us and our wishes. They simply aren't. I mean would you have voted to spend tax dollars bombing Libya instead of improving our own infrastructure?

Princeton did a study which proved our "representatives" actually represent corporate interests and not those of the American people and have been for some time. Im sure you've seen me rant about it but just in case im gonna post it one more time :

Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens  The Source Material

Study: US is an oligarchy, not a democracy Decent article on it

The video sums it up quite nicely though, definitely , definitely worth the couple of minutes to watch.

Yes, but we get to vote for the oligarch of our choice, so they can cater to the vested interests that keep us,all cheerful, well-fed and gainfully employed. A Democracy in a Republic. So, suck it up, cupcake, the only place meaningful socialism thrives without bankrupting a nation is precisely in such a socioeconomic system.

Step away from your portraits of Lenin and Chairman Mao and embrace the epic fail the systems they promoted were. Since I don't accept the spurious definitions and conclusions you promote in preference of truth, your argument is moot and you conclusions non sequitur.

People need to know what is really be said on the left because the leftist media BLOCKS it from view.  Why was that man not fired from his job?

This is the face of the left, Malcolm Harris, a writer for the Washington Post, wishing the congressman's death.   He may get his wish because they can't  stop the bleeding and Scalise now listed as critical.   This is not unusual, the twiiterverse is brimming with progressives and socialists cheering this act of terror today.  Go look, there are compilation sites all over the place. Imaginarrynumber says tehre are just as many on teh right that indulge in this but that is a leftist daydream, something they tell themselves to justify their abhorrent behavior, but please find the massive vomit of cheering tweets and social media posts celebrating Gabby Giffords shooting.  Don't bother, it isn't there, oh there are always a few crackpot but they are a far fringe, this outpouring of joy over Scalise getting shot is NOT fringe, it is very widespread, overwhelming in fact, there is no comparison.

It's true that we should tone down the rhetoric. That said, I can't and won't blame anyone or anything but the act and the criminal. All of these killers have "reasons" for their murders, but we must focus on them rather than other factors that are often used to further goals (censored speech, gun control, PC laws, etc.). We'll miss the boat if we don't look at the banal evil that is the common factor in all of these cases.
