Not a big deal but often it makes it hard to write an accurate thread title.

I agree! It's often impossible to do the subject justice or make it interesting(and true!), enough to tempt people to read more.

Unfortunately no, the thread title length is integrated in to the design and layout of the main site.

If we do another redesign in the future however it is something that is likely to be addressed.

Like in the world of newspapers, the skill is thinking of a snappy title that gets the reader's attention.

As in a 'Reader's Digest' title I once saw, 'A Wolverine is Eating My Leg'.

I like it because sometimes it is quite challenging , frustrating and a feeling of relief if it all fits in the allotted word allowance
