Firefighters served sausages of rescued pigs

A litter of piglets whose bacon was saved from a barn fire has been served up as dinner to the firefighters who rescued them.

The 18 piglets and two sows survived the fire in Wiltshire in February, which saw 60 tonnes of hay catch fire.

In a potentially controversial move, farmer Rachel Rivers thanked the Pewsey fire team by giving them sausages.

She said: "I'm sure vegetarians will hate this." The firefighters however said the bangers were "fantastic".

OMG such twisted logic! 558648.gif

Thereagain the piglets met their assured destination before they had a chance to grow more.... headshake.gif

(Could have cut out the middle man and let them burn/roast in the fire - ready to eat!) :unsure2:

Maybe saving the barn was the main concern....

Well, that's...freakin weird.

As much as I love piggies, both alive and cooked, I think I'd be a little freaked out by that.

... really?

I call BS on this story. Do you know how long it takes to render Pig Meat down and make sausages? This story makes it sound like it happened later that day or the next one.

And do you know how much meat 2 sows and 18 piglets will yield? enough to feed about 40 Fire Departments, and not just for a day.
