Toy ship sails from Scotland to Scandinavia

A toy pirate ship launched by two young brothers in Aberdeenshire has sailed the high seas to Scandinavia.

Ollie Ferguson, eight, and Harry, five, from Turriff, first launched their Playmobil ship from Peterhead at the end of May.

It sailed hundreds of miles to Denmark, where a family sent it on its way. It then made it to Sweden and Norway.

The boys launched the pirate ship as part of a bucket list of adventures they have put together.

THAT IS AWESOME!!!

tried it myself once, an old radio control life boat, filled it with batteries and set it off, went about 10 metres and sunk.

no wonder it was only 50p off a car boot.

Offshore vessels in the Atlantic are on the lookout for a toy ship launched by two brothers in Scotland last year - as its batteries are running low.

Ollie Ferguson, eight, and Harry, five, from Turriff, first launched their Playmobil pirate ship called Adventure from Peterhead in May last year.

It initially reached Scandinavia, and is now off Guyana.

Their father said the tracker battery power was currently at about 25% and it needed to be recharged.

How awesome that people are willing to help it on it's way. Those little boys must be thrilled to hear about the places it's been. I hope their boat continues safely on it's journey for a long time to come.
