As football season kicks off and we are about to become distracted by fall TV the probes into the Trump-Russia connection are heating up

Russia probes kick into high gear

Quote

The congressional Russia investigations are entering a new and more serious phase as lawmakers return from the August recess amid fresh revelations about contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia.

In the coming weeks, both intelligence committees are expected to conduct closed-door interviews with high-ranking members of the Trump campaign, and potential witnesses could include Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort and Donald Trump Jr.

Mueller seeks interviews with WH staff over Trump Tower meeting statement

Quote

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has approached the White House about interviewing staffers who were aboard Air Force One when the initial misleading statement about Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower was crafted, three sources familiar with the conversations said.

Trump Jr. has not put concerns to rest and is opening up new lines of inquiry.

Quote
Trump Jr. was explicitly asked whether he either took any of the Russian participants in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting to see his father -- now President Donald Trump -- or whether he told his father about the meeting after, sources said. He insisted he did neither.
Asked why his father promised the next day that dirt was coming on Hillary Clinton, Trump Jr. told Senate staffers that's just the way his father talks.

Now that Mueller has gotten the NY Attorney General involved thereby effectively taking Trump's pardon power away I imagine the whole truth will be flowing soon.

Don't bother, he's completely one of yours now, ordering the Stormtroopers to break down the doors of Russian consulates and psychically manhandle the diplomats, giving Secret Service Agents freedom to investigate the premises without any supervision so they can plant whatever evidence they like - so they can, er, search them thoroughly for incriminating evidence, the Impose Absurdly Draconian Sanctions for No Readily Apparent Reason on America's Enemies and Bully your Allies into Going Along With It Act (and actually call Russia "America's Enemy"); he's one of yours now, Democrats. There's no need for this endless charade of finding new improved ways to stage a coup and have him ousted from office. Embrace him.

Ahh Im glad to see people recognizing this finally. The dude isnt and never was an outsider nor was he ever a conservative or republican.

For the record , he's not "one of mine" as I am no damn democrat, just a concerned American who is calling a spade a spade.

I had a dog and his name was BINGO.

They are salivating at the thought of a perfect, socialist Utopia where no one is poor and every race is celebrated (except evil whitey, of course) every gender is celebrated (except traditonal males,) and every religion is praised (except Christianity, cause oppression).

I still haven't worked out how Sharia law will fit in. Obviously the Leftists will allow it but Islam doesn't recognize or appreciate all the genders on the spectrum. Now that I think about it, Islam likes traditional family structure and heterosexuality...interesting...

I'm sure that the dishonest media will continue to salivate in their coverage and reporting of this obvious with hunt while they continue to shun the Menendez case and the DWS case. Maybe the worn race card can't be played, so they'll again deal the joker Russia card from the bottom of the stacked deck. The result likely will be the same as the other times. If so, they may need to find a new dirty trick.

If/when he is pushed from office through these tactics we will have finally reached the threshold of one party power

Take off the party colored glasses , Trump is not a republican and he certainly isnt a conservative. He's just a conman who is doing everything he can to keep this nation divided and distracted from seeing through his schtick.

16 hours ago, and then said:

The average persons who consider themselves to be "Liberal or Progressive" will watch the country rapidly going off a cliff both socially and economically.

The average person is watching that happen NOW. Socially we have a potus who stands for nothing beyond self promotion and division, economically we have a potus who has put lobbyists in just about every meaningful division of government while repealing protections for mainstreet.

16 hours ago, and then said:

Trump's election was the last gasp by those who wanted something, ANYTHING, other than these self-destructive plans for the future.

This is the saddest part about the Trump presidency. Good people actually believed the lies Trump was telling, good people went to the polls thinking they were doing America a service by voting for the man, yet he does nothing but surround himself with lobbyists, corporate shills and goldman sachs swamp creatures.

You're right I do fear this election was the last gasp for this nation before everyone becomes cynical like myself

I actually believe we will see real violence if he is removed in this way.  A truly free nation CANNOT survive when half the population desires to rule over the other half by force.  Once that path is taken, Trump's presidency will seem like a paradise in comparison.

If Trump were removed it would be by the force of the constitution and the constitution alone.

^_^ Then that might be a very beneficial result. In fact, that was what the Trump was claiming was the whole point of him running, wasn't it? So in fact he'll have fulfilled his promise, and he'll have done what he claimed to set out to do.

nice example of truth~reversal -- it's not Trump deliberately fomenting racial and gender division -
that's the domain of his political enemies - who (with their foot soldiers) are trying to manipulate and manage perception 24/7 -

Divide and rule ... oldest trick in the political book -

I think those plotting against him shamelessly try and twist the truth all the time -
I see it as a kind of David and Goliath situation - for the love of his country DJT dared to take on the whole political
establishment and won - but the fight back is vicious and deceitful - like the collusion with Russia BS -

Wait a minute. Its Trump who rolled back the DOJ's required police reforms, its Trump who has banned transgendered individuals from serving in the military, its Trump who (ill throw ya a bone here) appeared to defend neo nazis, its Trump whose DOJ filed a brief in a court hearing they actually have no standing in regarding states rights and gay rights, its Trump who claimed a judge couldnt do his job because of his heritage.

How can you look at the above and seriously with a straight face say its not Trump deliberately fomenting racial and gender division?

He did not "take on the whole political establishment" he has wrapped himself up completely in the "political establishment".  If you just take a couple of minutes to dig beyond the lip service you can see this in black and white

Ex-lobbyists swarm Trump administration, despite 'drain the swamp' pledge

Quote

More than 100 former federal lobbyists have found jobs in the Trump administration, despite President Trump’s campaign pledge to restrict the power of special interests in Washington, according to a tally provided to USA TODAY by a Democratic group.

And roughly two-thirds of them — 69 — work in the agencies they have lobbied at some point in their careers, according to research by American Bridge 21st Century. They include about three dozen recent lobbyists who have not received waivers from Trump’s ethics rule that bar industry insiders and former lobbyists from working on specific matters that benefited their former employers or clients for two years after their appointments.

The prevalence of lobbyists in the new administration shows that Trump and his aides are “are holding themselves to a different standard than we expected,”

as I have said before a negative spin can be put on ANYTHING -

Trump has to now work with the political establishment and try not be eaten alive by it while at the same time trying
to fulfil his election promises and perform duties as president -a difficult balancing act especially  when the sharks are circulating
and snapping at their prey ... waiting for the opportunity to make the kill -

that's how I see it

Trump like everyone else isn't perfect, no President is ... but the propaganda and hysteria against him is just ridiculous -
and has been from Day One -

Comeon Bee , you're better than that. You made a claim , I shot it down with facts, no negative spin needed.

Same with the lobbyists, no spin needed there the dude flat out lied about "draining the swamp" , we now have plenty of evidence to support that fact.

Obviously draining the swamp is a very difficult thing to do because the 'swamp creatures' will fight for their political lives -

You think it was going to be easy or that they would just be '''drained''' without a struggle ...

Trump isn't super human you know - did you think he was before you embarked on your little anti~Trump forum campaign..?

Hang on hang on. Im talking about people Trump himself has hired, you're acting as though they're a force of nature which spontaneously appear like a summer afternoon rainshower.

I'm not so sure about what actually, who knows what these people, to be generous to them, can do to manipulate themeselves into positions of power.

Which would kinda make the Trump phenomenon even more laughable, not only does he tweet like a whiny little b**** he lets himself get bullied into hiring people he doesnt want , like a whiny little b****?

On a more serious note I guess he could just be a corrupt b****** who has some seriously damning skeletons hanging in the closet.

Whether they're there because he wanted them there (he did hire them afterall) or because they have some form of blackmail over him , he didnt , and isnt gonna, drain the swamp.

No, not at all, what I mean is the ruthlessness of these people, with their ruthless agenda to pursue, shouldn't be underestimated, and they could very easily masquerade as anything they want to be to make sure they get into the positions they want to be in. Don't underestimate how ruthless they are, as I said.

Bee, he's appointing lobbyists to positions - that's not draining the swamp, that's bringing in new alligators!

In the context of this conversation though I posted a link to a story about over 100 known  lobbyists having been hired by Trump and co. The only thing they were masquerading as were lobbyists when Trump hired them.

Its funny I find myself agreeing with what you and even what Bee are saying in theory. I just dont see it being applicable in practice under a Trump presidency. If all his rhetoric had an ounce of truth to it then sure....... but it doesnt. He's not an outsider, he's not draining the swamp, he is simply changing which corporate overlords benefit the most from the current POTUS.

In reality I always wondered what "Draining the Swamp" really meant

in practice it seems to be - replacing the swamp's current occupants with ones closer to your own image (views). Which doesn't exactly fit the sound bite.

At best you were always going to get a repopulating of the swamp with slightly different swamp dwelling inhabitants.

so at the end of this exercise you will still have a swamp but it will be a Trump swamp.

that said I think Kelly is having an increasingly positive role on the actions of this administration so possibly in the longer term it may becaome a Kelly swamp which based on what I have seen would not be tooooo bad. .

politics eh... sheesh

I suppose he's attempting to drain the established, elite dominated and corrupted swamp -
the one populated by the globalists and their crew, that's got extra swampy and stinky over the years  -

perhaps Trump's flung a few red MAGA  caps into the swamp to foment a swamp war -- dunno :D

He knew what he was up against as this speech shows - but I think that the reality of it probably still shocked him a bit -
and I'm guessing he has to constantly re-adjust his strategy on virtually a day to day basis - because of the ruthless agenda
he is up against -  keeping his friends close and his enemies closer - when he feels that's the best thing to do -

and then

Trump's presidency is a picture of America at a crossroads.  About half seem to want an all powerful, all giving government that provides everything to voters for free.  The other half just want to have a chance to work for a decent wage and earn a living for their families.  We're being set up by the media complex to tear ourselves apart and when we finally give in to violence, everyone is going to wish they'd thought things through a little better.  I hope the media vultures are the first targets when the bloodshed begins.

I have never considered him to be a "Republican" whatever that is supposed to mean these days.  It USED to mean a fiscal and social Conservative.  Those days are LONG GONE.  If you really think that removing him from office is a good thing then you will deserve what you see happening afterward.  Those allied with the Left seem to have lost all sense of reality where politics are concerned.  I'll say it again - NO group of Americans can ever hope to rule over the rest BY FORCE.  Civil War WILL follow any attempt of that.  I assume you don't believe this but you won't have any way to deny it once it begins.  I'm sure you will make excuses for what is happening and call it anything except what it really IS, but that won't matter then.
