Russia probes kick into high gear

Well we should probably start with the fact that the entire administration continually lied about Russians wanting Trump to win when they knew for months.

Holy crap, we knew that for months! Because Hillary spent a good 80% of her time raving about Russkies and what she'd do about them when she came to power. That was why a lot of people opted for the Trump, vile as he may have been in other ways. Why might the current Administration have lied about the Russkies wanting them to win? Precisely because the "Democrats" were making it virtually a hanging offense to believe that it might be desirable to want cordial relations with them?

an intternal coup? being set up by the Party who persuaded him to hire them so they could undermine him?

So Jeff Sessions became the very first senator to endorse Trump way back in February 2016 just so he could become the attorney general in order to get caught lying about Russia and recuse himself so his deputy could hire a special counsel to investigate Trump for obstruction of justice after Trump fired the head of the FBI for investigating team Trump's Russia connections?

No I mean they knew that Russia was actively attempting to help Trump get elected and they lied about knowing that fact. That in and of itself puts the entire Trump/Russia relationship into question. Why lie if there is nothing to hide?

So, we've got Donald Trump getting help FROM the Russians.

And Hillary Clinton leaking information TO the Russians through sheer carelessness.

Tough choice ! :P

I'm not sure that the US public would appreciate their President being selected by a small group of people in a forum dedicated to the unexplained and eldritch ?

Mind you.. that WOULD explain Donald Trump becoming president perhaps ?

Q. Let’s move on to a lighter topic. You’ve been married to your wife Jane for almost 30 years. What’s the secret to a successful marriage?

A. One word: romance. For example, on our honeymoon, I took Jane to Russia, back when it was still known as the Soviet Union. Russia was an incredible place back then, before the billionaires ruined everything. Who needs 30 different types of deodorant anyway? In the glory days of the Soviet Union, there was one brand, it was called “Deodorant,” and you had to wait four hours in line for it. By the time you got your hands on one, you were sweating so badly, not even the greediest billionaire’s fanciest deodorant could mask the stench. Or as I call it: The sweet smell of equality!

Is that a parody? That's a rhetorical question because I know that he's likely a closet commie, and it's a big shame that so many Millennials support this pinko Santa Claus. We dodged *two* bullets named "Clinton" and "Sanders". He's the same guy who claims that there are no poor White Americans.

Mueller just obtained a warrant that could change the entire nature of the Russia investigation

Quote

FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller reportedly obtained a search warrant for records of the "inauthentic" accounts Facebook shut down earlier this month and the targeted ads these accounts purchased during the 2016 election.

The warrant was first disclosed by the Wall Street Journal on Friday night and the news was later confirmed by CNN.

Legal experts say the revelation has enormous implications for the trajectory of Mueller's investigation into Russia's election interference, and whether Moscow had any help from President Donald Trump's campaign team.

"This is big news — and potentially bad news for the Russian election interference 'deniers,'" said Asha Rangappa, a former FBI counterintelligence agent.

Quote

"The key here, though, is that Mueller clearly already has enough information on these accounts — and their link to a potential crime to justify forcing [Facebook] to give up the info," she said. "That means that he has uncovered a great deal of evidence through other avenues of Russian election interference."

It also means that Mueller is no longer looking at Russia's election interference from a strict counterintelligence standpoint — rather, he now believes he may be able to obtain enough evidence to charge specific foreign entities with a crime.

If we're holding the POTUS and a gross comedian to the same standards our nation/world really is in deep trouble.

IDK man I dont see why a prosecutor and a witness having a relationship necessitates a recusal and from what ive been able to read the experts are about equally split on the issue. I would grasp at that straw if I had a horse in the gight as well.

Can you provide a link to the policy being broken? Further though the DOJ is under Trump's purview. It is Trump people in charge of the DOJ , why would Trump people hire a special prosecutor in violation of their own rules?

I think you're really reaching here.

C. DOJ-Specific Conflict of Interest Regulation:   No DOJ employee may participate in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution, or who would be directly affected by the outcome.  28 CFR 45.2

Political relationship means a close identification with an elected official, candidate, political party or campaign organization arising from service as a principal advisor or official; personal relationship means a close and substantial connection of the type normally viewed as likely to induce partiality.

If this exact same situation existed and a Dem president was the target your hair would be on fire, dude, and you know it.

Wait a minute man. What you quoted does not mention a witness to the investigation, just the subject of the investigation . In this case Trump is the subject of the investigation.

I have to argue that you what you posted doesnt have anything to do with Mueller and Comey. .....Not that im not open to admitting it if you find it, but what you posted doesnt show that Mueller shouldnt be investigating the president.

the guy who wrote it does political commentary and satire -
I was just adding to the general (disingenuous) hysteria regarding Russia in this thread... for humorous purposes ... :)

just had another look into the honeymoon thing and it seems that he did go to the Soviet Union shortly after he got married..
and it is used against him by his political opponents  --

https://www.rt.com/usa/320098-bernie-sanders-ussr-honeymoon/

“I’m tired of losing. Good God, look who we’re running against. The number two guy [running for the Democratic nomination] went to the Soviet Union on his honeymoon, and I don't think he ever came back," Graham said before the audience exploded into applause.

Graham was referring to a 1988 trip that Sanders, then the mayor of Burlington, Vermont, took to Yaroslavl in what was then the Soviet Union shortly after he married his wife Jane.

In a taped interview with the mayor of Yaroslavl, Sanders acknowledges that health care and housing appear to be “significantly better” in the US than in the socialist Soviet Union, according to National Review. “However,” he added, “the cost of both services is much, much higher in the United States.”

it IS a funny gif - and the reaction to it is sooo typical and vulture like **

as usual it's all about perception management with the media etc - they could so easily have said something (if it had been a democrat
politician tweeting a similar thing) --- ''''''Isn't it refreshing when a politician has a sense of humour - the public like to know
their leaders are human just like them'''''''

but oh no ---- because it's Trump his detractors loose their minds over it - like everything and anything to do with him -

** apologies to real vultures who live in the wild -
