While I agree the response has been way overboard, I do have to say that no its not refreshing, its really quite embarrassing for our nation............again.

It's the over the top reactions to anything Trump does that is the real source of the self inflicted 'embarrassment' -

it's like watching opposing chimp gangs in the wild trying to usurp the ruling Alpha Male -- ^_^

come on, even the most pursed lipped and sanctimonious would have to smile at that surely.

Oh i definitely smiled at it. I also smile at fart jokes, neither of which would be appropriate for the POTUS to tweet out though.

The extra funny thing about it all is that the more the Disingenuously Outraged crowd go on about it the wider it
will spread and soon nearly the whole world will have seen it - and had a little laugh -

Actually, Frau Merkel leads us back to Bernie, (it's like Six Degrees of Vladimir Putin again) , since she of course was brought up in the DDR and used to be a Young Communist.

Mrs Merkel (circled) who was 17-year-old Angela Kasner when the picture was taken in 1972, is shown in fatigues marching with a group of friends and an East German officer That's her, circled. Yes, really.

Actually of course, to British viewers, Donald Trump is a fart joke himself.

There is an informal meaning of “trump” to mean a fine or reliable person. In British slang, however, “to trump” (intransitive verb) also means to expel gas through the anus — e.g. Trumped from eating too much baked beans — often in a highly audible way (as in with trailing sound).31 May 2016

That's cute. Karl Marx is proud of you. Groucho not so much. I call them as I see them, and I'm not blinded by fear or PC, as I see through political BS very well, so adjust your own vision since you're looking through biased leftist lenses.

I was just adding to the general (disingenuous) hysteria regarding Russia in this thread... for humorous purposes ... :)

just had another look into the honeymoon thing and it seems that he did go to the Soviet Union shortly after he got married..
and it is used against him by his political opponents  --

Cheese and rice! That was a joke? It's hard to tell these days. My first inclination was that it was fake, but I second guessed myself, so this changes the whole conversation.

You're not still clinging to the tired old left-right paradigm are you? Surely it's obvious that the "Democratic" party and the neocon wing of the Republicans both have the same aims and both wish to overthrow the current President. And if you've read the Antifa thread you'd see that I don't actually support the great leftist anti-fascist alliance.

Forget about it. I wrongly thought that the Bernie Sanders quote was real. I went back and forth on it because it seemed so over the top, but he made crazy comments in the past. Shame on Bee! Seriously, I know that you're not a commie. I also agree with your point about the two political parties. It seems like Trump is now more accommodating to both Democrats and neocons. Let's hope that it's just pragmatism on his part.

eek - sorry about that - using the quote from that satire piece was a spur of the moment bit of silliness -

I should have made that clearer because the lines between lies and reality are blurred enough as it is -

It's all good. It sounds over the top, but Bernie Sanders is over the top, so I went back and forth on whether or not the quote is real. He claims that no White person knows what it's like to be poor, and he dines with Al Sharpton. He's an admitted socialist, and he's probably not had a "real job" in his life.

My goodness, it's even worse than I thought!

Quote

"On Tuesday, the major news outlets were filled with the latest lurid chapter of Russia-gate, how Google, the Internet’s dominant search engine, had detected suspected “Russia-linked” accounts that bought several thousand dollars worth of ads.

“One Russian-linked account spent $7,000 on ads to promote a documentary called ‘You’ve Been Trumped,’ a film about Donald Trump’s efforts to build a golf course in Scotland along an environmentally sensitive coastline, these people said. Another spent $30,000 on ads questioning whether President Obama needed to resign. Another bought ads to promote political merchandise for Obama.”

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2017/10/robert-parry/jumping-the-shark/

The ... the filthy swinehounds paid for material criticizing Trump, and promoting Obama?! Their machiavallian deviousness sets new standards for utterly illogical incomprehensibility!

* And notice how none of this multi-billion dollar* Russkie propaganda was actually attacking H. Clinton! That just shows if anyone needed any more proof how foully devious they are, doesn't it! A propaganda campaign that doesn't actually say anything at all about the one you're staging this vile fake news campaign to undermine! Only the Kremlin would be capable of this kind of utterly illogical pointlessness.

* well, perhaps as much as $7000

At the time the Trump regime announced that he would implement the suggested sanctions against Russia I said lets wait and see if he actually does it. Looks like we're still waiting

Leading lawmakers wonder why Trump Is dragging feet on Russia sanctions

Quote

On Wednesday, leading senators from both parties, Maryland Democrat Ben Cardinand Arizona Republican John McCain criticized the Trump administration for not meeting a deadline for implementing new sanctions on Russia's defense and intelligence sectors.

"The delay calls into question the Trump administration's commitment to the sanctions bill which was signed into law more than two months ago, following months of public debate and negotiations in Congress," they said in a statement.

"In addition to the administration's lack of responsiveness on this deadline, there does not appear to be a significant diplomatic effort to engage our allies in Europe and lead an effort to increase pressure on Moscow," they added. Several European countries bristled at the stepped-up sanctions provisions, especially those dealing with energy, fearing it could scupper business ties between Europe and Moscow.

Manafort Had $60 Million Relationship With a Russian Oligarch

Paul Manafort, a former campaign manager for President Donald Trump, has much stronger financial ties to a Russian oligarch than have been previously reported.

An NBC News investigation reveals that $26 million changed hands in the form of a loan between a company linked to Manafort and the oligarch, Oleg Deripaska, a billionaire with close ties to the Kremlin.

The loan brings the total of their known business dealings to around $60 million over the past decade, according to financial documents filed in Cyprus and the Cayman Islands.

Ties with Russia? No, impossible. Fake news.

I find it funny that Russian Probe News is basically almost non-existence today since they figured out there is no substances to it.

Well, lets look at that shall we ?

Paul Manafort had previously been a campaign manager for Ronald Reagan and George Bush... so where THEY manipulated by the Russians as well ?

He worked for the Trump campaign team for 3 months, and was fired when allegations of Russian connections where pointed out. And THAT was 3 months before the election.

Fake News ? Well..... dodgy and agenda-led journalism perhaps ?

Nice try at some spin amigo but the article itself knocks that down just a tad bit:

Quote

NBC News reported in June that the business relationship between Deripaska and Manafort began in 2007. According to The Wall Street Journal, they worked together to further Russian interests in Georgia.

oh for cripe's sake Farmer, how about attacking Trump for some of the many reasons there's perfectly good reason to rather than trying to keep this tired old farce going? I mean, you do realise you're supporting Hillary Clinton here in her desperate efforts to blame Foul Foreigners rather than her own horribleness? is that what you want farmer? To back Hillary and her "the Russkies did it!!" campaign?
