Why is it spirituality vs skepticism?

That is, in itself,completely true.

I'm an 'apatheist' that doesn't care about the 'God question'. Having said that, I cannot begrudge others, their beliefs.

Only problem I have with people and their beliefs, is if they harm others because of them. Not like it matters. We're all going to die one day anyway.

I guess technically you could be so open-minded that your're completely closed-minded to anything closed-minded.

Did I just create a temporal paradox?

no

Spirituality is the knowledge that doesn't need belief.

Skepticism is the belief that there is no knowledge.

As we always have, since time immemorial. The best we can do is to not screw each other up,in the meantime.

Only if it causes someone to become a complete moron.

You'll get used to it. I've seen two deaths due to cancer, staring down the barrel of someone's possible demise due to it, and now live with the same illness that took my beloved grandma.

Smoke'em if you got'em.

It's as much as 'how well you live' as well as 'how well you'll die".

I plan to die without a grievance.

My wife does. I have diverticulitis. "God's" gift to me on my birthday last December(same thing that took my grandma). So it's rather difficult for me to see god in anything.

Wow... I don't intend to degrade your experience by telling you 'I understand', because no one ever truly understands. But I will say I went through the whole cancer and death thing with my step-father when I was 10-12 yrs old... I understand at the very least from the perspective of that experience...

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family my friend... :(

My belief is that all we truly have is each other,

Yeah pretty much. I just don't understand why we create intentional stumbling blocks like religion. All that does is divide us on so many levels. Sad really.

It seems ironic to kill each other over the afterlife.

That would be a logic fail. An even worse fail is killing because "god" said so.

Some need it while others despise the concept.

If there is such a thing as 'God', I see it as completely indifferent. So, if that is the case, 'what is the point'?

That's something I never understood. Even back in my days as a Christian.

Not to go into another moral debate, but just cause God says something is good, doesn't deem it so.

Pretty much. I don't see "it" as a thing that would come to earth and inspire "divine books". Just doesn't make sense at all.

I can see how the concept can inspire profound thoughts.. I just wish that those thoughts would inspire more profound action.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

There we go, into perpetuity,
