Pensioner finds full pay packet 62 yrs later

1 post in this topic

A pensioner was gobsmacked when he found his first pay packet still full – 62 years after giving it to his mother.

Michael Doherty, 77, made the astonishing discovery as he was clearing out his mother’s house after she moved into a care home.

After his first week of work as an apprentice builder in 1955, he went straight home and gave his mum Margaret his wages – two pounds, 15 shillings and ninepence.
