Sir Wearer of Hats Posted December 18, 2019 #201 Share Posted December 18, 2019 Far warning, I never liked the whole “Doctor of War” or “the warrior” nonsense they added to the character under RTD or Moffat, but ... it adds such poignancy and weight to this scene. Any of the others could have said it, true, but it really does work with a post-War Doctor.

GlitterRose Posted December 28, 2019 #203 Share Posted December 28, 2019 I know it's lousy quality, but I like this scene.

But he did it to shock people to get their attention so they would hear his words. And if he were to do this today many would have accused him of being a Nazi and hater of Jews. In fact if I recall many did when this was shown in his day.

drakonwick Posted March 24, 2020 #218 Share Posted March 24, 2020 I would have to say the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. I was young and it was terrifying, yet funny, Freddy's sarcasm sold me on horror movies for the time and have been a big fan ever since!

John Hurt (the war doctor) and the episode he is in with Smith and Tennant is just brilliant. But my most favourite scene in the doctor is the farewell text from Matt Smith, still gives me the shivers.
Leon G Posted June 30, 2020 #222 Share Posted June 30, 2020 Just brilliant this. The fact that most would think how to disarm those and he worry's how to arm the others. Just amazing.

LightAngel Posted September 3, 2020 Author #224 Share Posted September 3, 2020 Dick Hallorann: Do you know how I knew your name was Doc? You know what I'm talking about, don't you? I can remember when I was a little boy. My grandmother and I could hold conversations entirely without ever opening our mouths. She called it "shining". And for a long time, I thought it was just the two of us that had the shine to us. Just like you probably thought you was the only one. But there are other folks, though mostly they don't know it, or don't believe it.
