Could we survive without our planet?

Leaving Earth means learning how to produce necessities like food, water, and oxygen.

Quote

We would not be here without Earth’s resources. The magnetic field that shields us from space radiation, the atmosphere we breathe and the water we drink are but a few of the crucial resources we rely on, kindly provided by our planet.

Just because we rely on it now does not mean we always will, however. Now that we have the means to create spaceships and ways to mine other parts of the solar system, the idea of living without our planet is not out of the question.

Ultimately we may have to alter our Genetic makeup to leave Earth, maybe there are habitable Exoplanets out there but would they match the Earth we evolved on?

People have lived in space for many days, Valeri Vladimirovich lived in space for about 700 days,

All we need is a spaceship big enough to hold about 8 billion people, and necessity essentials for humans to live

Seems foolhardy.  Humans would only long to come back to mother earth so why leave in the first place?

That is not really the question that is asked, the article is about whether we could survive on another world without using resources from Earth.

So you have never left your house then? After all you would only want to go back so it would be foolhardy for you to leave. What a truly idiotic piece of logic.

A wise man once said, "It's perfectly natural to leave your house without leaving the planet."
