Why do most women (and some men!) wear makeup, when we have evolved to find people attractive without it?

There are, as I'm sure you know, two main kinds of rain: the shower, which arises as a result of convection, and the weather front which brings prolonged rain. Accompanying the latter there is nearly always strong winds, due to the way that the weather works, and stuff.
