Was it Lionel Richie who sang "I know it's funny but I just can't stand the French"?

Are we supposed to pronounce the 'N' in COLUMNIST?  I always do, but most Brits on the news channels don't. I think the Americans do.

No, it was Gerard Depardieu! I can understand why you made that mistake though, as Gerard's father's middle name is Lionel. Depardieu recorded the song when he moved to Belgium in 2012.

Why don't Americans spell labor or favor without the tedious, unneeded "u" ?

I messed that up, but it was too late to edit it.

Saru has been very quiet lately. Do you think he's up to something?

Think perhaps it’s better not to wonder such things?

Don’t think of it as quiet... it’s peaceful.

Why are the bin-men in my area so untidy & miserable looking?  If that job does spread a contagious form of depression, isnt it time to jump ship before Benny the binman driver hits a midlife crisis via a parked car.

Even Elton Musk, with all his environmentally friendly electric cars, does, in fact he has the biggest firework of all*. He's supposedly spending trillions of his "own" money** constructing an amazingly super-duper hyperspace transportation system that will get people from New York to Washington in 15 minutes, but you'd think he 'd be devoting some of his globe-straddling wealth to developing some sort of antigravity system or something that would do away with the need for enormous, and not notably environmentally friendly, fireworks, wouldn't you. <_<

* sorry, Little Rocket Man

** in ironic quotes; he gets no Government help at all, of course, no <_<

You can thank old Noah Webster and his labour saving innovations for that.
