Sci-fi/Cyberpunk forum section

Would it be cool to have a cyberpunk forum section or a subsection of science to discuss about cyborgs and just the possibility of the human mind connecting to binary code and electronics, like a kind of futuristic human with enhanced features?

I can't see that happening unfortunately, it's a bit too niche for this site.

Maybe not a separate section, but a thread or two are certainly possible.

You have officially piqued my interest.

Keep this up and my inner geek will burst forth like a broken dam.

Btw, what's your favorite Cyberpunk/Sci-Fi series?

I've not really experienced much cyberpunk stuff. It's not really a sub genre that interests me usually. However, that should change in a couple of years when the creators of The Witcher release their newest IP: Cyberpunk 2077.

What about Transhumanism? Is that still a thing? haven't heard much about it lately.

Transhumanism is a big part of Cyberpunk, since it describes any way (genetically and technologically) for mankind to advance beyond the limitations of their natural bodies and minds.

I agree it might be a bit too much of a niche genre for its own section, better left for single threads in other sections, but there's definitely a lot to discuss.

Don't worry, you'll get used to warm (135F) whisky (nasty stuff... yeeaaak)...

BTW, hot beer is the best way to warm yourself in cold winter, no kidding.

Hot beer? owww,, I do not even like cold beer, let alone heating it up.

I do like a hot brandy and love Irish coffee, how do they fit in with a cyborgs veins?

Actually no, aside from tasting like armpit water, beer has other disadvantages when trying to "warm up".

Alcohol makes you only *think* you are warm, because it dulls you to the cold and sends blood into the outer blood vessels (your skin is warm now, but that heat comes from the core of your body, not from the drink and is going to be missed there!)

So if you drink yourself warm all the side-effects that come with being drunk (being more reckless, dulled to recognizing you are freezing) and the fact that you just distributed your heat from the most important parts of your body to heat your skin makes you more susceptible to getting hypothermia when walking around those cold, cold winter nights.

Anyway as a Cyborg, may I run on Tea? With tea it doesn't matter how hot it is. Also I want cyborg eyes that can see those color spectra the Mantis Shrimp can see.

Just try it, use bottled beer, not cans: put bottles into the pot with water, and start heating. When water boils, switch off the heater, and then wait for ~5 mins - enjoy. I can guarantee, you will like it.

No colors.
