Popular Post Still Waters Posted October 9, 2017 Popular Post #1 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Footage of a starfish 'walking' along a beach has been baffling the web. The creature was spotted by Zeb Hallock in Corolla, North Carolina, who filmed the bizarre spectacle before returning it to the sea. In the video, the sea creature uses the hundreds of hair-like cilia on the underside of its body to inch along the sand. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4963110/Incredible-footage-shows-starfish-walking-beach.html
UFOwatcher Posted October 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2017 (edited) Thank you. I have never seen anything like that. Surprised people left it alone. Edit: I later see there were several and people were returning them to the sea. Edited October 9, 2017 by UFOwatcher update

Galactic Goatman Posted October 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Makin' my way down beach walkin' fast/faces pass and I'm seabound... Really stupid joke aside, nice video! I think a lot of people get surprised by how echinoderms move about.

WoIverine Posted October 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) Yeah, I've only ever seen the rigid kind as well, this was definitely cool. Very interesting how it moves. Edited October 10, 2017 by WoIverine

Agreed, reminds me of a movie with a starfish like alien. Unfortunate because I didn't like the movie.
Pirou Posted October 10, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Very cool! A half-hour drive away from my house I can visit a fish-store which have many starfishes but I've never seen their cilia so long nor one so active.
