Bolsover Castle voted England's spookiest

Still Waters

A castle where the ghost of a boy was apparently seen holding visitors' hands without them noticing has been voted England's spookiest.

English Heritage (EH) staff gave the verdict on Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire, which is built on an ancient burial ground.

Other events at the ex-home of William Cavendish, include strange footsteps and slamming doors, EH reports.

People also said they had felt like they were being pushed, had cold sensations and heard muffled voices.

"The building was deemed 'England's spookiest' by staff at English Heritage (EH) - a registered charity responsible for looking after more than 400 of England's historic buildings and monuments."

Sounds like the charity is trying to drum up some tourism business.

I once saw a ghost airman at Dover castle but apparently it was only a hologram projected onto the tunnel wall it was impressive though
