Still Waters Posted October 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2017 A group of octopuses were seen walking along a Ceredigion beach on Friday night, surprising experienced sea-goers. Brett Stones, who runs dolphin tours in Cardigan Bay, saw as many as 25 curled octopuses on New Quay beach as he returned from a day at sea. "It was a bit like an end of days scenario," he said. "There were probably about 20 or 25 on the beach. I have never seen them out of the water like that." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-41790482

kartikg Posted October 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2017 there might be something wrong with their habitat. I don't think this is their normal behavior.

krone Posted October 31, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2017 A more important question would be, why aren't there any marine biologists going to the site to figure out what's going on? Or doesn't the government give a damn about figuring it out? I'm so tired of the authorities ignoring situations like this. They're all playing violin while the ship goes down, so to speak.

It won't it's not the correct way to pluralise 'ocfupus' anyway. The 'I' would only apply to a Latin word, and octopus isn't rooted in Latin. oldrover Posted October 31, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 31, 2017 I'm not sure why people seem to think this is a sign of something wrong, personally I doubt it. Cardigan Bay is a very healthy place. And it's hard to imagine this behaviour is a reaction to some adverse element in their environment.
