It seems the Saudi' would prefer the media NOT to highlight the fact that it was intercepted by a Western missile defense system. (the Patriot ABM), and that they where saved by their theological enemies.

All that they have is Western made :) USA is selling them weapons since 1951 ( in first two decades or so, USA was selling to many countries in the region ) and in Saudi case it's most advanced military equipment which is usually allowed only for USA close allies. LINK Source used on Wikipedia page of Saudi Armed Forces.

I've wrote about deal between USA and SA worth about 15bn, all most recent and advanced stuff complete with training etc. They are no enemies with USA and most recently Saudis are in bed with Israel :)

Well, indeed SirSmokeaLot. And the British sold them lots of aircraft.

Curious, then, that Al quada was formed - and subsequently killed several thousands of Americans - on the basis of objections to the fact that Saudi relied on Kuffaaar in order to protect itself from Sadam Hussein.

And even more curious that the "Western Mainstream Media" seems keen to assist in suppressing that fact in relation to the recent Missile attack (using Russian missiles.. and intercepted by American missiles) against Riyadh.

Ok so Saudi Arabia lunches hundreds of airstrikes in Yemen and the Houthi rebels one (intercepted) balistic missile. Sounds about even...
